I was wondering if any of my fellow Wauseon IAC brothers and sisters have anything to say about the meeting on Wednesday? Plus we have our meeting coming up on Thursday with the Committee, what is your take on all that? I see everyone comments on other forums but not this one.

I myself do not know what to do or say just yet. I would like to see what the Committee has to say to us Thursday, and not listen to the crap that is going around. I just wish some would shut the hell up and listen to what is really going on! We all have an opinion, some more than others! I for one am looking forward to the meeting so I can hear what they have to say not what people want to put out that not true and have no idea because they are not on the Committee! Best of luck to our Committee, times are hard and I am willing to listen to you!

I agree with you unhappy in wauseon. I hope for the best, but really am expecting the worse. I just wish the rumors on the floor would stop, and people would listen to what the Committee has to say. They have not had a meeting with us yet, so how can people be saying what they are saying. I can say one thing, here in Wauseon we love to bitch about what we have no clue about!

I think this is one time in all the years I have been there that I have faith in our Committee! They are all trying to do a good job and get the information out to us. I like how they are straight forward and honest. I don't hear the famous words "I'll get back to you on that" and never hear about it again. We had that a lot the last time around!!

This is the one time that we all here in Wauseon need to stand "UNITED" and not "DIVIDED"!! There are some who no matter what are going to try to make this a total mess, but I am going to listen to the people we elected to our Committee!

Wauseon's mayor called IAC corp office after our meeting because he heard rumors that we were closing. They told him that they have no plans to shut us down, just a little food for thought.

Thank you for this comment!! I too think we all need to see what is going on! I agree we hear so much crap on the floor from others who have no idea what is going on or they just listen to the people who want to cause hell for us all!! I want to hear it from our committee not the ones who are not on the committee!! Man do we have a lot of thoes!!

IAC Wauseon we can be "UNITED" and stick together! We need to now more than ever, times are hard and they are just going to harder!! The more we let others make us be against one another the worse it may be for us all! Have confidence in who we all voted in!!

I agree we need to hear them out first then make the decision on what we want to do. We have to stand together and not let them divided us. Keep the faith and everything will work out.

New management from negotiations is not likely. look what happened when IAC took over same old management, even some of the corp. guys are old lear corp. As far as waiting for all workers to return to play hardball, yeah right even when the plant was doing well we always did what the company asked. Don't get me wrong I would love to everyone come back to work and some!!!!!!!!! But we are now bailing out the auto industry with our tax money and possibly our pay checks!

And just what do you think the committee is going to have to say? They were also blindsided by this. We are under contract until november. No one knows what the economy will be like in november but we do know how bad it is now. To vote to open the contract now would be foolish. Stop letting fear run your lifes. It's time for hard working Americans to stand up for ourselves and tell the rich greedy ceo's that a contract is a contract and they can't scare us into taking cuts everytime they see an opportunity to screw us.

Has anyone heard how the vote went today!! I think the committee did a GREAT job presenting to us today. I hope we all thought really hard on what was said and voted for the best for us.

Best of luck to all our UNION BROTHERS AND SISTERS OUT THERE!!

The vote was overwhelming to open the contract. The committe will go to Detroit soon (i think next week) to start the process. Nobody wants to give up any wages or benefits but everyone understands the reality of what is going on in the economy. I for one don't want to be bagging groceries down at the Chief in a few years because we were too stubborn to step up and get this thing done.
