Has anyone heard of the Sidney Plant having a major layoff in October?

It was reported in the Dayton Daily News Wednesday the 13th, but management is denying it.

also, has anyone heard anything about the Sidney Plant getting Honda business?

Below is the article from the local paper. They official filed with the state of Ohio. It is unbelievable that they would so blatantly lie.

International Automotive Components N.A., an auto parts and interior parts producer, will lay off more than 200 workers at its Sidney facility in October, according to a state filing.

Jen Neague, a human resources manager for International Automotive, informed the Ohio Bureau of Workforce Development Partnership that the lay-offs will be permanent.

The lay-offs will occur sometime after Oct. 7.

The company referred calls seeking comment to the public relations department, which did not immediately return calls.

Headquartered in Dearborn, Mich., International Automotive has more than 18,000 employees at facilities in the United States, Canada and Mexico, as well as interests in two Chinese joint ventures.

Thanks for the info.

It was in the Sidney paper today. It was in the little 10 min. "meeting" management had with us just Thursday morning that they denied it, and tried to say the Dayton Daily News misprinted it. So all of these newspapers are getting it wrong, huh?

How stupid do they really think we are?

The Plant Manager said IAC has 4 buildings sitting half empty, and that the company would be making some hard decisions between now and the end of the year.

This company is nothing but a joke

It's sad that I had to learn that I was getting permanently laid off from today's Sidney paper.A few weeks ago they had a meeting and stated 35-45 people were getting laid off after October 13th if things didn't get any better.I guess they lied about that because the paper said the letter to the WARN website was dated July 1st to let everyone know 207 people were getting laid off and they just put it on the website on Monday. Why?Are they shutting the plant down?Who's gonna be left ?Not many. The office employees (salary) will not be cut from their jobs I bet .If they say they're gonna lay off salary it won't be many unless they are closing the plant in which case they will most likely have the option of being relocated.I don't have that option.I can't see how these people in managment can live with their self knowing what they know and then looking us srtaight in the eyes and flat out lieing to us.

Check the ohio.gov website.

On there somewhere should be the Warn Act. When you get on that, it'll have a section that says recent filings.

It'll give a listing of companies....as of Thursday, IAC Sidney was at the top. Click on it.

It does give our clock numbers.

I looked up Ohio Workforce Ajustment Retraining Notification Act (WARN) They show everyone who's getting laid off clock numbers ,their job postition,if they were direct or indirect labor or maintence. On the website they show the letter from Jen Neague (dated July 1st).According to the website it will be 141 direct labor,52 indirect labor, and 18 maintence which adds up to 211 not 207. Which either way who's gonna be left?

Wow that's a really shitty way to find out that your getting laid off! Doesn't surprise me the least with the way iac operates! Good luck.

No we don't have a severence package but I heard a rumor today that they were trying to open the contract early to get one. We'll see what happens. It just seems bad any way you look at it.

Thanks .Thats the way the managment works in IAC .They cut your throat and never think twice about it. They don't give a crap about the little guy it's all about the almighty dollar.I realize that's business but management has made some bad business decisions in the past in my opinion.

Yes, that is the way things work here.

This Plant Manager has been with us for 3 years now and we've only seen products move slowly out the door.

And I agree, business is business, as they say, but the lies are unnecessary. A few people in management have been with the Sidney Plant for years, and have known the employees for years, and aren't decent enough to be honest about anything that is going on.

A little honesty can go a long way. Most people can handle anything that is thrown at them when they know you're being straight with them.

People have lives to get in order and loose ends to tie up when losing a job, and the best the company can do is give vague answers and lies.

IAC does not care about giving you tme to get your lives in order. All they care about is the almighty dollar. It's sad that you all took the concessions thinking it would keep your jobs. All that did was make them richer. I will always believe that this was their plan from the beginning. Whether or not Carlisle would have taking the concessions (which we did not) our future would not have changed. Wilbur Ross is a vulture and he will do what ever it takes to get richer. Someday he will have to answer for his greediness. Best of Luck to All

You're right! I've been with the Sidney plant 11 years not as long as some that have 20+ years invested in that place but I've always worked hard ,hardly ever missed work, tried to treat everyone including managment with respect and what does managment do for this they slash our throats and then act like they know nothing about it .Like we're to stupid to read the newspaper or to get on websites confirming that they are a bunch of bold faced liers.

Thank You.

And you are right about the Sidney employees thinking a paycut would save their job.

I wasn't one of them....I was willing to take my chances and voted no.

And I commend all of you at Carlisle for standing for something.

The Sidney plant divided and fell, only to die the slow death they were threatening would happen without the paycut.

I'm actually not sure what it means...I never knew that's what they did when they sent this kind of info to the state.

It seems to me they are getting rid of everyone under the guise of a layoff.

My theory is: They layoff all the hourly workers for the time it takes to run us out of unemployment benefits, then call us back for a lower wage....knowing that alot of employees will be desperate for a job and will come back at any rate of pay.

If that's the case, they might as well lose my phone number because I won't be going back.

I would assume they could keep the place open if they have a few people still working in the front office.

I could be wrong, but if they get rid of all of us, why aren't they calling it a "plant closing"?

well they can lose all of our numbers..office working.. you got to be kidding me. maybe if we all had sit down jobs. for some reason i feel a blind side coming.i just wish they would talk to us and not beat around the bush... that bush keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aries

Take care today Aries, because the emotional landscape in your neighborhood will be full of pitfalls during the coming fortnight, as it has been since the Solar Eclipse on May 20. The more convinced you are that you're right, the harder it will be to navigate your way around forthcoming events. If you feel resentful of someone, perhaps a neighbor or sibling, you need to get your feelings out in the open, rather than burying them deeper, where they'll fester and lead to more problems in the long run.
