I read a post in a military discussion group that asserted that only about 10% of those who enter the U.S. Military as an officer or enlisted soldier in our current voluntary service remain in for the mandatory 20 years such that they can receive retirement benefits. Our nation is increasingly utilizing mercenaries and foreign troops to further our military needs. The clear implication of the aforementioned is that veterans benefits do not compensate adequately those who serve. Rather, our current political system grants preference, by law and custom, in employment, education, and otherwise to those who are unwilling and unable to serve in the military. When the barbarians are at the gates, who will defend these Orwellian pigs?

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Libra

Someone is convinced they're in the right under the Lunar Eclipse, and they don't care how they get their point across. If there's trouble in your neighborhood, get it sorted out by putting your thoughts down in a blog, or on paper. Don't let anyone, even siblings, treat you like this, even if you balk at standing your ground under this moody cloud. Travel plans may be upset, and spiritual pursuits, and dealings with foreigners or people of other cultures is subject to pressure too.
