What I can't stand is seeing people open packages of candy or cookies and giving it to their kids while shopping and then don't pay for it. I have brought it to the employees when I see it but they don't do anything.
They just pass the cost of it onto the rest of their customers. But it shows the quality of parenting these days.

Jellied cranberry sauce is fine.........some applesauce is fine......but yogurt, cottage cheese and cream cheese is so so. The jams arent very good and forget the peanut butter and the bread and english muffins. I love the savings, but the taste is horrendous, which makes it more depressing.

With the economy the way it is.........I refuse to buy bakery items, no cookies and cake, and no ice cream. Rather spend my money on nutritional value food!! Time to lose weight, people!! Not a bad thing. PRICELESS!!

ha.......check out the guy with the beard that used to shp at Westwinds of Boca Publix. He used to use coupons for items that he did not even purchase, to get his groceries for next to nothing. He was warned.....and finally banished from shopping at that particular store. He used to buy one item and get one free (when they had the specials) and a week later bring back the 2nd item for a full refund. What a piece of work. A real lowlife for shure. Hime and his wife. A control freak!!

these Publix stores sound pretty interesting. We have Costcos and Sam's Clubs, I've never heard of a Publix.

Publix is a grocery chain in Florida.Just your everyday run of the mill grocery store. The Costcos and Sam's Clubs down here are really only useful if you are buying in larger quantities.

Not necessarily true... it depends on the product and the supplier of the store brand. They don't all use the same quality ingredients.
I agree, Aspirin is Aspirin Wal*Marts brand of 300 count 81mg is $3 less than Bayer's, but then again the store brand of Pepto-Bismol sucks

Folks have stopped wasting money? Oh my gosh. It's the beginning of the end for the American economy. Next thing you know, they will stop taking on debt to have things we can't afford and maybe even start saving some money.

You've just figured this out?
Where've you been all your life?
What I was getting at is that I was curious if I personally could taste enough of a difference between brands to justify the price difference. I had never tried it all out before, so one time I did. And for the most part, I can't tell enough of a difference. Now, Dr. Pepper vs. Dr. Thunder doesn't count. Some things you just pay extra for.

Um, Publix would rank somewhere above Vons or Ralphs ... but under Whole Foods. It's the "nicer" of our big 3 chain stores ... the other 2 being Winn-Dixie (bottom rung) and what's left of the Albertson's on the East Coast. I prefer Publix because they don't have a stupid members discoutn card (I don't think) like the rest. They are not a club like Sams or Costco, just typically a nicer super market then the others. Krogers have not krept into Florida yet. Nor have Safeways.

Sure, name brands are more expensive for the same thing, but where would those companies be if it werent for the generous contributions by suckers.

hey, I like Dr. Thunder. It's just as good as Dr. Pepper, maybe just a little bit more watery. I was wondering if they still have mello yellow. Can't get that here.

They don't make mello yello any more. It's been replaced with VAULT.

Scratch that ... Publix apparently just bought all of the remaining Albertsons last week.
