There are things I don't even buy because it's ridiculous to spend more money for them!

I eat at Publix, wait for several hours and then use their restrooms. They can't charge me because the food never leaves the store!!

Fuel prices affect EVERYthing. Watch for skyrocketing inflation, something the next president has to deal with.

Thanks, George W. Bush, for building a bridge to the 19th century!

Store brands are just as good as the national brands, they don't need to pass along the advertising costs to us, hence the savings. Walmart cereal for example (corn flakes)$1.50 vs $2.50 for Kellogs, Similar savings all across the board on all brands.

Thank you

I have been buying store brands for years. There are a few brand names I buy but only one sale and if I have coupons. I find brand name items are cheaper at Target than at Publix.

Most store brand food items taste the same, or close enough to their national counterpart that you hardly notice. If you are cooking the food, then there is no taste difference. Things like cereal and sodas are about the only think I can think of that one could notice differences. And even then, its no big deal.

I've purchased all name brand items on purpose to see how much it costs. Then I've purchased the same load but with all store brands. The cost difference is huge, usually around 25% or greater. That adds up, especially if you are feeding more than one mouth. Sure, 25 to 50 cents may not seem like much, but multiply that by the 100 items in your cart.

The only name brands that I stay with are the highest priced cat food because my cat can tell the difference and I want to keep him happy. In general, I don't worry about price (I don't have to). Pardon me for now, I'm going burn some more expensive gas to get my lottery tickets. Thanks.

Not necessarily true... it depends on the product and the supplier of the store brand. They don't all use the same quality ingredients.

Many people don't realize that private label/store brands are often made by the same companies selling name brand products. In many cases, the product is identical or very close. As a whole, I think Costco's Kirkland brand and Publix's store brands are very good. Target's Archer Farms and Market Pantry also have some very good private label products. The price difference really adds up and you're really not sacrificing much if any quality.

If enough of us shifted our spending pattern away from name brands, they would have no choice but to drop prices. I would suggest at least trying them - even if you decide to go back to the name brand (I do for some products) at least you tried.

Where you the one dressed as a woman eating shrimp and drinking wine at the Young Circle Publix? Hollywood PD arrested someone doing that in the women's bathroom.

What I can't stand is seeing people open packages of candy or cookies and giving it to their kids while shopping and then don't pay for it. I have brought it to the employees when I see it but they don't do anything.
