Ralphs, Kroger accused of overcharging in LA

Ralph's often has advertised specials, milk comes to mind, where if you buy two of something instead of one there's a price break per item.

At the checkout I enter my "preferred customer card" number, it registers, but when I examine the receipt once getting home the price break isn't there.

In this economic climate advertised specials that don't exist isn't just an inconvenience; it's criminal.

But if you had used your Ralph's card you would have saved money with Ralph's rewards..because normally whatever your buying is 2.50 but with a Ralph's card its two for 5.00..suckers ..Trader Joe's and whole foods only place to go.

"Trader Joe's and Whole food" Are you out of your mind? Produces are so expensive there, i never buy anything there. Ethnic markets are the clear choice, think Super King or Superior Markets!

Shame on you Kroger for cheating your California customers like this especially at a time when we're all feeling a pinch from our poor economy. I shop at my local Kroger but if I find out you're doing anything like this here I will STOP doing business with you and switch to another store.

TJ's is best to buy produce.

I am so not surprised to see all 3 Ralph's that I frequent on this list. I've always found the one closest to my house to be the shadiest, nice to know someone has confirmed it now and that driving the extra 2-3 miles to Pavilions really is worth it.

This is BS. Somebody is trying to give the stores trouble. These sounds like something the union or extortionist would be doing; shake down the stores!!! Is this what America & CA is coming too???

As if Ralph's prices aren't already gouging enough. They cheat customers, also?

What a coincidence...the amount it was over the weight is the same weight as a thumb.
What I don't like in their advertising is when the say buy one get one free, now how do you know how much you are over paying for the first one to get the second free, at this point I usually stay away and shop where I compare actual prices

I shopped in several of these stores and have screenshot the page in preparation of the Class Action Lawsuit.

p.s. the milk and cheese i bought from ralph's on sherman way consistently spoiled three days BEFORE the sell by date - i finally took one back and they told me my fridge is probably warm. someone i know who works at a market said dairy sits in the back getting warm before they stock it. needless to say, nothing else in my fridge spoiled. just their milk and cheese - oh, and a bag of salami once. how the heck does salami go bad??? very odd.

Besides the weights being wrong, the misleading advertising.
I won't say false, but for example, for months I bought the 1 gallon Ralph's OJ for $1.49,THEN a new advertisement label "RALPH'S NEW LOW PRICE"...
1 gallon OJ for $1.99. DID I MISS SOMETHING?
Another problem is trying to ask for help or get a question answered, since I am 11th generation born in the United States of America, these UNION employees don't understand MY native language ... ENGLISH.

Could they also look in to why fast food restaurants always short you one item at the drive-through windows and never give you an extra item?

For all you ignorant TJ's and Whole Food shoppers, why would you and how can you say organic is better when none of it is regulated? I still see yellow "organic" lemons which shouldn't be the case if it truely is "organic". Dumbasses

I hope this investigation was brought on by my complaints of Ralph's / Kroger not taking any of my online coupons that were from their own web site print at home coupons. Hope they get fined the max.

I boycott all markets and businesses staffed with union slugs because I know they're bound to be overpriced with horrible service.

The fine is ONLY up to $256,000???
Depending on how long this practice has been occurring, Kroger/Ralphs could have profited more than $256,000 on these deceptive tactics. If the possibility of getting caught and the fine are minimal, corporations will continue to defraud.

Whole Foods always charges for the weight of the container when purchasing prepared cold and hot foods. Are they supposed to deduct something for the container's weight?

Hop at Trader Joe's, they have great prices and quality products. The Big guys are out to screw you!
