10 Stores within 10 miles??? Atlanta is one of Kroger's biggest markets in the country. A little common sense and a quick road trip will tell you that there are more than 10 Kroger stores in North Georgia...Who writes these articles?

Yeah, they're definetely wrong about the 10-store thing. Heck, I can think of 3 just within a 5 mile radius of where I live and 3 more within a 5 mile radius of where I work.

Of course, all that said, this is a pretty good idea Kroger has!

For real, I have 2 within 6 miles of my house alone. One is about 1 1/2 miles away and other 6.

This concept is being used by many grocery chains and in fact is a great idea! The grocery chain in effect is adding 10% more value to the government checks that will enable people to use at the store locations. The only issue I see is that the funds must be spent at the store, and for some people to want to lay out their entire stimulus check to one store, may be a small issue. Many people are using the stimulus checks to offset their mortgage payment and or other bills that are being piled up. I would suspect that those who are less effected by our economic down turn will see great benefits to this type of promotion, where those who are struggling to keep the lights on will have a hard time deciding whether to use their entire check for food, or want to cash it so they can spread it out where they need it most today!
