Key retailing is akin to capitalistic socialism and you need look no further than Russia to see how well it works.

Twas the week before Christmas through out the whole store, conditions arn't good and they want more. Everbody's working hard to stay afloat, but the elms dept. is a big joke! They need to here in the store so they will have a better idea and they can go home tired and sore. We try to be ready when the customers come in, cause taking care of bussiness there is no end. The hrs. have been tight through out the whole year, but next week we're screwed and its not even here. The biggest week ever in the books and the hrs. we needed they took. So this is the thanks that we all get for all our hard work, our blood and our sweat. I'm embarresseed to say i work for kroger, if Barney was alive today, he'd fire them all and start all over. We've been in buissness for over 127 years in the fight, its just canned beans, meat and potatoes and we're still trying to get it RIGHT! Publix is not going nowhere their here to stay, little by little their eating away. Everything their doing we've already done, so lets forget about key retailing, get back to basics so we can remain number one!

Key retailing costs sales and wastes man hours. It's not about the customer anymore, it's about corporate greed fed by how much blood you can squeeze out of the people that work for you. The time I have to spend making sure we get all the stupid little KR concepts accomplished would better be spent keeping the cases full, taking care of the customers and selling more product. Elms is nothing but pure BS, just a new way to legally reinstate slavery in our country. I'd like to shoot the SOB that came up with this crap.... Albertson's and other companies used it and look where it got 'em. Nuff said.

Is it just me or is Kroger putting more pressure on cashiers to check faster with their new commercials?I could be wrong, but it's only a matter of time that being a cashier will be one of the most stressful jobs in the store.

Key retailing has some good sides, but many more bad ones. I hate forcing people to do things they dislike and being forced myself to be a cheerleader for something that causes so much rejection within my store - HOWEVER - it is here to stay and it is the one thing we are judged on by this company - so - those of you who plan to stick around need to do the best you can. It is what it is....

Key retailing is not a bad thing, its to make our job easier and it saves kroger and all the companies with it mayn dollars because we are organized and clean. Key retailing has made my stores life much easier and those who keep fighting it will be miserable! Its the way our company is going and kroger stocks are still up while the competitions is down! I hear complaining about cashiers having to check faster?? Well guess what....Journey men cashiers make more money than many college grads! So the company is asking for cashiers to check with urgency and have a great customer service? Well where im from cashiers make 20 dollars an hour so they should be thankful that they have a job and one that pays good at that!

Though I can understand the reasoning behind Key Retailing, the execution and concept are fails so epic, it flops worse than Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russel and Len Bias COMBINED!

1) The logo: Can't you be more creative than the Kroger logo? Seriously guys. Ego mania at its finest.

2) Conditioning: I can understand L-blocking. It's easy to count. I can understand full facing. It looks good. I can understand changing the guidlines so much, it makes the changing Colorado weather look consistant. It's confusing as costs people, that are just trying to make honest livings, their jobs.(If you can't sense sarcasm, I feel sorry for you.)

3) The TSG's: Again, reasoning is understandable, morons that can't do jack shit even after a year. Time management and all that crap. But all the notes that they want is a complete joke. Appearantly

12:01- clock in
12:02-12:44 Break down grocery load
12:45-1:00 Unload freezer truck
1:01-1:34 work aisle 9
1:35-1:37 pick up trash

etc.

isn't enough. It's not enough that we already write more than we stock, they appearantly want:

12:01- Clock in
12:02-12:04 Recieved instruction from foreman
12:04-12:48 broke down grocery load
12:48-12:50 wrote in TSG
12:51-1:33 worked aisle 9
1:33-1:34 wrote in TSG
1:34-1:36 picked up trash
1:36 wrote in TSG
1:37- 1:40 scan/pickup backstock
1:40-1:41 wrote in TSG
1:42 walked to aisle 10
1:43 wrote in TSG
1:44-2:15 worked aisle 10
2:15 wroste in TSG
2:16-2:31 break
2:32 wrote in TSG

wait... WHAT!? Yes, my store failed because we didn't have enough detail in our TSG! This is the WORST part of Key Retailing.

4) Quevision: I'm a GROCERY guy, not a checker, or sacker. However, according to Key Retailing the head clerks are getting paid to STAND AROUND! Seriously! You can have two, three, or even FOUR head clerks just standing around watching the front end struggle, then call Floral, Produce and Grocery to check/sack. It's funny how ass-kissing district managers LOVE quevision and those that work in the trenches don't.

5) Hyporacy: There is a TON of hypocracy going on here. No set standards that cause stores to fail, even if they were TO Key Retailing the whole way. My store hasn't been certified for 4 years, even with all the attention to detail we give. Yet most stores in our district pass, dispite looking like garbage. Favoritism and hypocracy are costing people their ability to make a living. And it's all so things LOOK good. Certain stores pass, while others fail so the Key Retailing higher ups have a job. If ALL stores pass, then Dave Dillion and your branch presidents come to look, and if it turns out that all stores HAVE passed, then there is no need for Key Retailing, thus these jerk-offs that cost us our ability to live, are in positions where they no longer have power.

In closing, Key Take-it-in-the-tailing is a complete crack whore's brain child, and it's complete shit. Maybe if it were more defined,(such as what is the benifit for a store for getting certified.) it wouldn't be so broken, Final Fantasy XIV looks like Dungeon Fighter. And if these ass-wipes understood that customers DON'T CARE how the back looks, then maybe more work would get done. The signs are a joke, the backstock review is a joke, the TSGs are so bad that robert Wiener's internet sex life looked like a good idea in comparison. Oh and on the side, appearantly they missed the notes I left them on MY TSGs:

1030- clock out
1030-1115 suck my dick, Key Retailing
1115-115 go fuck yourselves Key Retailing!

Glad to see that they pay attention to detail.:)

I have worked at Kroger for 5 and a half years now, at another retail grocer for 3 before that and am an exceptionally experienced clerk. I am always helpful to my customers and when I am allowed to simply upkeep my department by doing what I see needs to be done and not conform to the ridiculous company model that EVERY store is the same, I am an efficient and helpful front for the Kroger Company to these customers. Key retailing INSULTS my intelligence and leaves festering thoughts of disdain every time it is forced at me. At my store, key retailing started out in a managable fashion and actually seemed to work initially, but has become a front to create falsified information so the corporate aspects of this company can continue to justify their greed and continue looking over the fact that ELMS is screwing up any chance key retailing had at succeeding. When my department needs a minimum 24 hours of scheduled work in a day, I get 16. With all of the key retailing paperwork I have to do every time I do ANYTHING, it cuts my production significantly. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure this out, just a half-assed business degree I guess. Fortunately, key retailing has and will continue to change my life for the better. For it has inspired me to continue in my college career at the snail pace I have been going at, but in about 3 years, I shall be taking my Masters degree in Digital Media and leaving behind the hypocrisy of a company that touts "Kroger values" and "Customer 1st" all the while pandering to the corporate greed that is so dear to the heart of many a company today.

Key Retailing has nothing to do with Customer Service at all. It doesn't bring the customer in and surly doesn't satisfy them. Are they really going to caare what's on a back stock cart? How and when the product arrives? Krogers needs to "go back to the basics!" Why couldn't they "engage" there own policies ands procedures with the help of department heads. Key Retailing took the policies and procedures to a whole new level and made them difficult to obtain! PERIOD! Cleanliness, stocked product, backstock, CAO and other factors is all you need Key Retailing has nothing to do with Retailing to the consumer.....many Key Retailing atributes have absolutly nothing to do with Customers. I really wish our Investors new the whole story and the rediculous options given to us. Many Key Reatiling evaluations have Nothing to do with the consumers purchase in helping with sales. I've pulled ALL my vendor displays, shippers and even Kroger Brand displays off the floor "Eliminating all" possible sales too our store, only leaving items on the shelf. Investors Beware! Sales are going to drop! Key Retailing is the Devils way of weeding in and bringing worker moral down to a point of failure. When u have employees who don't care, your department suffers. We're to worried about getting Key Retailing right than satisfying the consumer. Walmart had it for a couple of years and they pulled it.....now Krogers has it and you wonder why there is always more rumors about buy-outs and closed stores......duh!

As part of Key Retailing we are to follow a limited schedule for our Receiving now cut back to the back door only being open 7am to 11am. Okay, well then told if a vendor comes in early, not to except them till there time and when a little late deny them. Great concept! Now we higher the new procedures on holes, don't have the product for the customer and made the vendor and there company wonder if they should pull out! Great idea Key Retailing! Did you explain this crap to investors? Okay CAO......the warehouse send you a bunch of discontinued crap all the time, mispicks and something more than you ordered and its my fault.......F U! No standards for this crap and the warehouse, but I have to deal with it come on.....get ur shit together. If I have to have my pebbles in a row why not the corporate office nor the freakin warehouse. We're starting to distro like Dollar General? Well at least they can put it on the sales floor, we haave to mark it down then find room for it? I believe Barney has rolled over in his Grave more than once wondering why his pholosphy has been turned upside down to make higher ups look so good and the worker putting up with this crap is standing in sinking sand? My Grandfather who sold the IGA Grocery chain when I was a child would be mortified in todays market over this shit! I hope they do open a IGA down the street would serve Krogers right! Funny thing these strategies are written by pencil pushers with great degrees, non of which have worked our departments and worked store level. At least Don Marsh worked his Fathers store, Sam Walton worked his, and many other success. Well okay Mr Dillion worked his father or grandfathers then sold it to Kroger go figure.......? Who's really kiddin who. Key Retailing I guarentee you is a train going to collide with another train on the tracks soon (wishing it was sooner) and when it does all the employees can says is......huh we told u so, but that's right u big guys don't listen for shit!

Thank you all for making me feel like we are united in the fact Quevision is tearing down Kroger and we as a united front can take down the corporate geniuses. Time to save the company money and overhaul the corp positions that come up with ideas that don't work universally. Kroger wants to save money start with all theses higher ups, they don't run the stores, us lowed paid people do. You want happy customers and employees, clean up your own house with people who never really worked in your stores, just have ideas for them.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aquarius

The emotional atmosphere is quite potent under this Lunar Eclipse, evoking a sense of crisis. The problems you've been experiencing with a certain person lately come to a head during the next fortnight, making you feel that you have to take drastic action or lay down the law. Yet this could make the situation worse than ever, especially if you act from a sense of panic or desperation. Take things gently and don't throw your weight around unless it's absolutely necessary.
