Um .. what is the problem with a gas station being built? Do people think it's further encouraging reliance on oil or is it something else? It's kind of weird that this story just says that people oppose it, but provide no reasons behind the opposition.

You know how 24 hour gas stations are. They are a breeding ground for drugs, crime and prostitution. Forget about a new business and new jobs in these bad times. I say go for it Kroger!!!!! Bunch of cry baby snobs.

Would you like to have a gas station in your backyard? Because that is literally what will happen to our family if they go through with this plan. I look forward to the 2am drunk crowd coming through from The OC, Hamilton Pub and Average Joe's. Would be much more appreciated if they actually built it in the Kroger parking lot, where it belongs. Not in a neighborhood 2 miles away.

Wondering why residents don't understand that Columbus City Council and Kroger knows more than the residents do about their neighborhood and property values. Just keep paying your property taxes and the city will decide what you need. Kroger is doing the same thing in the Hamilton Road area. Everybody wants/needs a 24 hour operation near their home in case they need gasoline and food at 3 am.

Clearly "Wondering" you must not be familiar with that area. There are 3 other gas stations closer to Kroger than the one they are building would be. And none of those 3 are in people's backyards.

i have never seen a prostitute at a gas station. i thought they usually got rides and didn't have to pay for gasoline. clintonville is trying to be like german village and keep people from painting their houses weird green colors. they don't want any more business' there unless its a coffee shop or a foo-foo shop for the rich. but personally i think kroger gas stations should be at kroger stores...there is plenty of room for a gas station over by urban active fitness

Put the gas station at Broad Ghettos, I mean Broadmeadows and High. People call it "Clintonville" that far north but it's really just a little slice of crime and mayhem. A 24 hour gas station will neither increase or decrease crime as it is already a cesspool of crime to begin with.

There are 2 stations very close to the proposed Clintonville site. We do not need a third. Keep Turkey Hill out of Clintonville, we don't need them and a gas station will not improve the area.

There is a gas station that backs up to a condo complex near where I live. The people who live next to the station say it's miserable! Car lights and noise all night long and people let their animals out to do their thing in peoples back yards. Those condos are for sale almost all the time.

There are 2 gas stations (Duke & Duchess and UDF - both open 24 hours) on the corners of Broadmeadows & High. You obviously don't know the area enough to be commenting, and therefore should not be calling it "Broad Ghettos". I live near there & can see no logical reason why another gas station would be problematic - EXCEPT to the owners of the existing gas stations...

put em where you want em, they will come. I myself am tired of all the gas stations and carryouts being owned by foreigners. At least kroger's is American owned.

As for people compaining about a gas station in their back yards, it's called growth. Look at stringtown road a couple years ago. It used to be empty, now it is a hub of new stores and shopping centers. You can't stop growth. If it is not a Kroger gas station it will become something else. Possibly a carryout or resturant. who cares. If you don't like it, go buy some land and build a new house where your closest neighbor is a mile away!

I say trash the neighbor hood with another gas station at least it brings continuity to the rest of the columbus metropolitan area. The artsy fartsy clintonites need to understand they are mere mortals.
