Jarnail and family,
My wife and I were watching the news and just found out about what had happened. It was shocking and upsetting. I enjoyed Tony so much the many years we were all at St. Joe. He was a wonderful individual and a team player at work. I am so sorry that your family must endure this tragedy and his children are without their father. Our prayers will be with you.

Tony was a very nice man, always in good spirits. I would see him in @ the store while getting my coffee, he will be greatly missed. It saddens me that people today have no value for life and refuse to work for a living. My prayers go out to tghe family.

We need a strong voice and activities against this kind of heinous act of robbery and killing. Local state and federal govt.should pressure store owners or the big corporations to maintain extreme level of safety measure such as providing armed security guard or bullet-proof glass counter etc for those stores open 24 hours or open at late night. As we understand the good work and intention such as hard works, services, life risks and sleep sacrifice of those late night opening store’s employees serve us at the odd hours; we clearly ignoring the safety of the graveyard shift workers who are vulnerable to those thug robbers and perpetrators. We heard so many presidents and political leaders talked about small businesses impact on the economy; however the business owners or corporations are totally denying the safety of these front liners, the store clerk. Nobody is speaking loud for these people. I am asking you to stand up for these good people who are serving us late night by taking their life risks. You always need to add extra care for these, front liner while making strategies; either it is your business or war .It is possible. Let’s make it happen. Sure it will be “win –win “bottom line for the society and business as a whole.

As you may know and understand from your experiences that Small Business like C-store or Gas stations are very vital part of the American tradition and daily life. There is no single city or suburb where there is no c-store. The positive influences of the c-store in our lifestyle are undeniable. I did my time in the c-store business and what I experienced that is the employees who are in the front line or front counter serving conveniences to so many are underserved, misunderstood , undervalued and often are the victim of serving conveniences to others. The recent incident on March 17th of the robbery at 7-eleven that happened in the Kansas City is a bright example of what I am talking about. I lost several friends who were hard worker and were the victim of serving conveniences. My heart is broken but my passion to do something is still solid. So I have been thinking for so long to do something. I did my personal research and found out that there are not really any strong voices and advocacy out there, at least to the extend I think. I believe there are lots of opportunity to explore for the safety, security and training of the c-store employees (Who we usually call “Clerk” or “associate”) •I believe big corporation like 7-11, Casey, The Pantry, Quick Trip or any C-store that open late or 24 hours should be regulated by federal state and local govt. to maintain reasonable or extreme level of security so the lives of the late night shift workers are not threaten by the robbers or any other perpetrators. •I became store manager from the Clerk position. I can speak from my experience that I never been trained outside the store, even I requested upper management to train me. Because of not training employee well, lots of unexpected and negative incidents happens and often that incident ends up taking the life of employees. If the c-store employee could calculate the risk he or she is taking for the sake of the minimum wage and with no perks and fringe benefits, they will be very logical not to take this job for them at all. •There is no academia spends time to explore seriously in this kind of business emphasis. It is hard to believe that there are so many schools or training center for beauty salon and home décor and design, but there is almost nothing very serious to train C-store or retail store employees. College or university may open Research and degree program in Retail Business management, such as BBA /MBA in retail management emphasis.
That’s not all and there are hosts of ideas we can generate by brainstorming to help these underserved business and working communities. We need help from the all corners of the society. People and organization like you can be very precious and helpful to make it a reality. I strongly believe we all need to add extra care for the people who are in the front-line while making strategies; either it is a business or war. I strongly believe it is possible. Please help us to make it happen. Sure it will be “win-win “bottom line for the society and the business. Please help the victim's family and kids. Appreciate your kind help.

I met Tony as a 7-11 patron. He was always nice and greated everyone with a smile. He would encourage conversation and interaction. My daughter went to pre-school with his daughter Simmy at St. Lukes just across the road. We never made that connection until after he was gone. He was just a great guy at the local 7-11.

Just curious. Does the 7-11 company offer any reward for such a travesty as this? Anyone with info should contact the police even if there is none but I was curious to know.
