A global internet body has voted to allow the creation of new website domain suffixes, the biggest change for the online world in years.
the new rules curb domain squatting practices, promote brands/trademarks protecshun, but in favor of the haves over the havenots. what if i don't have 180k dollah or ain't willing to pay the registrar that much?
this is just like pushing cloud computing to ordinary people, which is otherwise widening social injustice, digital divide, in that only people with plenty of bandwith can effectively make use the services.
why not focusing on improving the protocol ie http?
