Bally expects to emerge from Chap. 11 by end of Sept.

Unless Bally changes upper management personnel and implements efficient administrative procedures the same problems will emerge. People's paychecks are continually wrong even though it's supposed to a computerized process. The past management cut back severely on staff which negatively affected customer service. The condition of the clubs has been filthy and they can't retain quality workers. If you need to join a gym try LA Fitness or Gold's. Bally Total Fitness is a waste of money.

I live and work in Southern New Jersey, and am dbating between Bally's and LA Fitness. If I join Bally's on a monthly plan what is the risk?

I don't have any experience with LA Fitness but plenty with Bally. My suggestion is to steer clear of Bally.

Bally has new owners now and the name will stay. I am not sure if everybody knows the reason why Bally went on bankrupt. It's not the customer service, not the PT, but a thief. If you do wanna join a bally club, ask how they are doing membership sale wise. If they are making money they are likely to stay open long. The ones they close are the ones that are producing negative mullas. If the club is doing good, you might wanna go for PIF (Paid in full) which will save you 400 dollars. Now if the particular bally that you joined in closes, you are entitled to prorate and cancel membership without penalty because its a closing, you are not moving. The 25 mile radius rules is when you move, not when your club closes. There is a policy of refunding members if the club closes. The new owners of bally wants this done to avoid suits and what not. So you can say you can be safe with bally.
Go to a 24 hour fitness and LA Fitness- When you go in and inquire the first thing they will show you is an article of bally going bankrupt. Anyscare they will do to get you join. I have tried joining the other clubs.

American Military compared to Bally T.F.

If you ask the whole world, many will say American soldiers have a bad reputation. But there are many who strive to make the military a better community to the eyes of those who despises us or the whole world. I agree that some staffs are unprofessional and may have less education that some of you. Do you know they get paid minimum wage? Those who moves up in position are the professional ones who take their job very seriously. I admit, I do work in Bally and I am one of those people who keeps reminding coworkers to act professional and stay professional. Im sorry some of you here have been badly treated or unfairly treated by bally staff, but with the new owners who have been doing unannouced walk-thrus to see how bally staff would react will have a positive effect on customer service. There are many of us who wants it better for you. Bally will occacionally get those bad attitude people who will try to ruin it for everybody. Do you know it is illegal to not hire someone because of attitude? Attitude plays a big role in this business. I know some of us wish us the worse, but it is better for corporate america for some of use to keep this job. If you do close bally, imagine how many americans will be out of job. For some of you who don't care and blames on the president/leaders on unemployed citizens, maybe start caring and pray for a better business rather than making bad wishes. I wanna say it again, there are many of us who are honest, professional, and caring that wants this business to work. you all already know, we are not the smartest people, so when you come in and inquire for membership, do the smart thing and know what you are signing and know the pros and cons. Thank for everybody's time. I hope you will start experiencing the new Bally Total Fitness.
BTW I am also in the Armed forces, a good soldier that does things honestly so we do good for the others and the world. Thank you again!
