hrblock prepaid master card( emerald card)

i thought i should get one to have my unemployment insurance direct deposited to it, biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig mistake!!!!!! not only didn't they post it to my account, they told me it would take up to two - three week to post!!! now i'm late on my rent, phone's cut off, can't buy food and i have three children to feed. so - key words of advice "DON"T TRUST HRBLOCK BANK WITH YOU MONEY -YOU"LL NEVER GET IT!!!!!"

I have had my pay check direct deposited to my emerald card for almost a year now & I even changed jobs in October & I still have it done & I hae had no problems except when I withdraw money from an atm & I get charged about $5.00 by the time all the fees are added. Sorry someone else has had a problem but so far I have not & it is alot easier to have my pay check direct deposited to it.

this card is full of crap!! beware. Please watch for monies that disappear. God help you if you need to talk with a supervisor. I stayed on the line with the representive for 2 hours and spoke with ten different person's without any resolution. It's not worth the time. This card makes more money off the cardholder, than the cardholder spend I speak from experience. Do the MATH and watch you account. Oh! by the way you will never find the website you need to check you balance on line. When you use the automative system that another charge.

I love using my Emerald card. Its so much better than having cash on you, and I haven't had any problems with it either.

i have hadno prolems what soever the only thing that i can complain about is the fee to withdraw money because there is no actual bank andnot being able to pay bills online because we have no checks and our routing number is off by one digit

the reason I got online looking today was because i noticed a small amount of my money come up missing? they called it a adjustment. removal of my money? what so I wanted to look into it? yeah $7.98 was removed. Not alot i know, but how many times have they done this? and what for? I just paid almost $300.00 for my taxes to get done, Im a soldier and some times hard times hit, that 7 dollars could had been a meal at McDonalds... Please Im not trying to put H&R Block down, I just want to know what happened to my money. I also called and spoke with a women, the wait was only 2 minutes, then she said she would have to put me through to another rep... the told me the wait would be 45 minutes, now i don't have that kind of time I waited about 25 and hung up, and call the same number again, this time it would had cost me $2.00 to speek with the same women who couldn't help me last time. So maybe if everyone will pay attention and if you see something like this, see if you can find out why? maybe their doing something wrong? maybe not? maybe it was my mistake? What is the routing number for emerald card?

I just got the card today and now i see that there might be a problem with the card. Did I do the right thing getting this card?

This has been a nightmare first my load to the card did not post as promised.Forget customer service i spoke to four different people of which none seemed to know what to do .I got tossed around so much I forgot I was on the line for over 45 min. No thanks Emerald Green I figured I'd seen your good side and that was it.

We filed our taxes on Jan. 11, took the 1-2 Ral, & we are still waiting for our money. The IRS says it has been deposited, H&R Block says it hasn't been deposited. We have been chrged $2.00 off our card for every call we make to customer service, & no one can help us. I will never, after 12 years, be using H&R Block again! My niece just spent $50.00 to get her taxes done & had them in 1 day. What a rip off

After having the same experience, and run around with H&R Block, I have read various blogs online and found this to be a serious problem with H&R Block and that some people are still waiting for payroll to be deposited weeks after payday. I sent an email to CNN, but don't hold your breath.

update... i spoke with somebody in the federal treasury department... this actually isnt hr block banks fault... you can blame this one on the treasury dept... they had a glitch in their software fri which caused alot of refunds to be delayed... when it reached the bank it was missing the last number of the account number...causing the banks to reject the deposit and send it back to the treasury... they assured me that this problem had been corrected and as soon as they got the funds back the banks they would turn it right back around and re-deposit it with the correct account...

How did you contact the treasury department? I'd like to find out if mine was rejected and will be resubmitted.

i contacted hr block bank first to find out that mine was rejected. hr block bank informed me that the irs submitted the wrong account number and that this had happened to ALOT of people... did you go through hr block or did you fille your taxes on your own? if you filed your taxes on your own call 888-687-4722 for hr block bank and they can tell you if it was rejected... if it was it will be re-deposited

this card sucks,i put 300 dollars in my saving they told me ie would take a couple days to show up. then they said a couple weeks then the 24th of january,then they said they had no idea.now today with out looking up my account or asking who i was they say it will be tommorrow.I think they are just buying time.i have a family and cant afford this.dont put money on that card.

This will also be my last time with H&R Block. I received my emerald Card yesterday THINKING it was fREE! It was NOT!!!! To be issued a paper check would have cost me $20,00. Anyway, this morning I got up and the thought occurred to me that I would have to go to the bank and withdraw the money from the ATM. It was a sizable refund and I became concerned.. what if I was robbed??? and so I called H&R and requested a paper check and was told they could not do that and then I called my bank and was informed there was an ATM inside of the bank....better. OK, I went up and spoke to the teller and told her of my concern and she said they (the bank) could do a cash advance for me and so she did. I then did an additional one to have cash. I put the first one into my checking account. Knowing full well how much money i had left on the emerald Card, I went to another store intending to use it up. At the other store I was told that I only had $8.66 on my card instead of $48.66. I was angry and very curious. I went home and called my bank and asked if there was a cash advance fee and was told NO. then called H&R and asked them if there was a transaction fee to use the card and was transferred several times and finally told yes..a $20.00 fee for inside of the bank. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I work very hard for my money and now to top off the fact that I paid $160.00 to file my taxes I also paid $40.00 more for using the stupid card!!!!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I am very angry and feel the word needs to get out about H&R Block and their emerald Card. I have written a message on the Ripoff site and intend to send a letter to the Editor of the newspaper and also a letter to H&R Block. They have lost a loyal customer!
