I've been using Office Max HP refilled inkjet cartridges for a long time and the quality of the printing is the same as a new cartridge. I never refill a cartridge more than twice and never, ever accept a used cartridge in place of the one I bring to the store.

So far, everything works out just fine.

All I know is, it's cheaper to buy a new printer than buy new cartidges. What's wrong with THAT picture??!!

my hp printer prints crappy ass pictures so I really dont think a refill on my ink could hurt. So if hp wants to act high class why dont they dish out a good looking print from there printer..maybe then people will be willing to dish out the money..a-holes.

Often, good business decisions are overshadowed by the cost of the equipment rather than its ability to produce profits for the company. We pay attention to the value of the product the equipment produces for you. This is why leasing makes sense. If your monthly lease payments are less than what you can make by using the equipment, you have a benefit to profit without major investment.

You need a new paintbrush. 15 years ago I realized the best technique was to purchase and another printer to obtain fresh ink cartridges, returning it as defective with old/depleted ink cartridges installed.

10 years ago I began selecting printers with cartridges that were easy to refill and held large quantities of ink. HP 15/17 and HP 45/78 are ink jet cartridges which fit the criteria.

2 minutes to refill the black cartridge and 5 to refill color, at a fraction of the cost of flushing money down the toilet for new units....or using refill services at Office Max, Walgreens, etc.

If you're REALLY frugal you can buy the refill kits and return them partially depleted.

Well if HP is going to throw a fit about it, maybe they should lower the prices of their effing cartridges. I work in photo and we refill HP the most because it is the most popular and also most expensive. Stop whining HP and do something about it.

If memory is correct, HP makes 70 percent of corporate profits on ink cartridge sales, although that category only represents about 25 percent of sales.

Never under estimate the stupidity of the masses. WHY the hell switch to digital imaging IF you're to blow 500 every year for ink to print photos !!!

These could be the same consumers who pay $5.99 for 24 plastic bottles of "spring water". The water is bargain compared to ink that cost $8,000 to 9,000 per gallon.

I've spent, maybe,$200 for ink related products in the past 13 years. Walgreens had $1 refills on earth day last week so I took in 5 COLOR units. Anyone who is incapable of refilling a black inkjet cartridge probably can't wipe themselves correctly.

buying refilled/reman cartridges from ebay is generally a safe bet IF the seller has a large inventory and good reputation.

Give me a break,, I purchase the stupid over priced ink and cartridge,, so its mine.. They don't rent them or lease them to me,,I can refill them or have someone refill them , if I want,,as long as I dont sale them under HP brand name,, remove the label and use YOUR property as you wish.. Over priced products and fixed pricing is whats wrong with this greedy world now,, get rich quick and screw everyone else.. 30% profit margin should be capped for CONSUMER GOODS , so all can afford modernized products on the market..

Any company that is a leader in any market such as ink cartridges is going to protect their inventions. Saying they are just trying to make money suing someone is rediculous. Remember, companies are people, if they don't protect their intellectual rights and patents, not only the company loses, but the people that work for that company loses. Do you think Coca Cola would accept you taking their bottles and refilling them with someone else's soda?
You missed the point Jack, ink does not cost as much as we are paying. Ink is not a softdrink formula. This is just another example of the human race being ripped off by yet another means. Paying HP prices for ink is just plain thievery. May all corporations with this kind of thinking fall, and 'the' new era begin!

Thanks to all of you for your information. I own the HP Deskjet 3050. Just went and nabbed a Walgreen refill kit. For black, it's fantastic. All I really need my printer for is printing shipping labels and this did the trick. Now, the color refill doesn't necessarily look that great, but in all honesty, the color has never quite looked right on this printer.

Printers suck and they are little plastic pieces of shit, much like the people trolling in this thread. lolololol
