Malvern is just outside of Philly.I don't know where Malvern is. If my fifth grader had written this, I would have made him correct it to show where on earth Malvern is.

This is great for IKON customers...in some IKON offics, they treat their customers like crap! Although this may or may not change the techs or sales people...maybe Ricoh will actually want to "service" their customers. Oh, as for Copier Guy, if you were as smart as your fifth grader, you would have pulled up google, mapquest or google maps and looked online!

i really dont care where Malvern Pa is. What i do care about is what will happen when the consolidation starts and the fact that all the profits of this company will now go off shore. The los of jobs and the loss of loyal Canon customers. If Ricoh thinks they can change this Good Luck. After decades of loyalty I dont think so. Really this I think was a hasty way to get out of a hostile take over But was to hasty Ricoh will never be ab le to provide High end Devices to our Clients The only ones that benifit from this Sale are the Officers of IKON when they get the bonus from the sale .Business as usually? Yes Merging office, staff will be cut and jobs will be lost So a Good Move? you tell me

Lets be honest, RICOH provides some of the most advanced devices in the market place today! I know that not all IKON offices provided poor service, but I have heard a large number of friends grumble about the poor service that they received from IKON. Before this merger, RICOH was the #1 provider of document management solutions in North America, now that they are displacing Cannon, RICOH has a high potential to become the common name in their market. They are not going to take the jobs to Japan they are going to most likely keep the top IKON performers and merge them with the top RICOH employees, creating a top notch AMERICAN work force. All in all a great move by RICOH!

Judged: 1 We were called by our local Xerox Rep and explained they have a buyout promo package for us based on being Ikon customer with Ricoh machines. We will switch, staying with the reliable name in the industry. I should have never left Xerox years ago, wasn't worth the few dollars savings with the grief we have endured and the constant service price increases, this change cost us more in the long run. |
|
WOW, I am putting my resume together for IKON. IKON will only improve through this process and I want to be part of the company moving forward unlike Xerox. Xerox has lived on there namesake for too long and left their technology, employees and customers behind.

In my experience in this industry, change is inevitable. In my 23 years as a technician I have worked for 9 different companies, without ever changing jobs! At this point, Ricoh is not planning any great changes and plans to run Ikon as a subsiduary so Ikon customers will not see any differences in the near future.
I see here a number of people complaining about their service from Ikon. WE at Ikon take great pride in providing the best in customer service and if a customer is not satisfied, let us know. Talk to your Technician and Sales Rep., if that doesn't work, talk to their Managers, if that doesn't work, call Service and ask for the CIT (Customer Interaction Team). It is Ikon's and Ricoh's best interests to keep you as a customer. We as consumers in North America are getting too complacent, instead of accepting poor service as the norm, we need to ask for and expect better. |

I work for Ikon in the UK as an engineer and take pride in the work I do. I meet with engineers who are directly employed by Canon and Ricoh and can honestly say that Ikon engineers are far more motivated and enthusiastic. The only problem we have is to see 5 years of good service wiped out by the manufacturers undercutting our quotes for the same machine. At the end of the day the factory has still only made one device!

What's the latest regarding the IKON / Cannon relationship?

The board of Directors meeting for Ikon shareholders is Oct 31 2008. So it is business as usuall from the Ikon side. Cannot speak for Canon.

Judged: 1 Don't do it. IKON is a rotten company to work for and don't give a damn about the employees. If Ricoh dumps the management from the top down, it may improve but will that happen. |

I think Ricoh will keep the good service teams but will have to clean out the top heavey mangement that ikon likes to have. This will only make it better for service but it will take awhile for the dust to settle and in the meantime customers will be called on buy the likes of konica, oce for there buissness.

Hi I am looking for former IKON people for my client in Chicago. They are looking for a sales rep who can sell the on-site facilities in downtown Chicago. Great job, great company, Interested? Know of somebody who is? Diane - dbeard at blueskypersonnel.com (yes that is a Toronto number but a Chicago job) |
I just made the best move of my life, IKON really knows how to take care of their people. Either you don't really work for IKON or you are a marginal employee. If you think IKON is so bad, take my old job at Xerox and you will see what bad really is. |

I am being courted by IKON to sell their machines. Is it any different from selling for other office systems? I know nothing about the industry but have 20 years outside sales success. Downsizing has put me on the road for a new sales position.

I understand why Ricoh purchased Ikon(so they can buy marketshare) However they will lose in the long run if they do not improve their quality of products. People buy Canon products for quality not just for speed. Ricoh is a lower price product and the only way to provide a lower price is to skimp on the manufacturing of the products. In our industry they are reffered to as "Fast Plastic" Customers who switch will realize this and go back to Canon. I don't sell canon myself however it is a very good product.
