Hotels suxk. they drop to 50% occupancy rate but still keep their rates at 250 to 300 dollars a night. All you are really getting is a big bed and a roof over your head for maybe 10 hours. They would rather go out of business than really bargain down the rates.

The reason they maintain their high rates(I assume we're talking Marriotts, Westins, Hyatts & Hiltons here?) is to discourage so-called "transient" business.
Catch my drift?
Their idea: please take your hourly business to the Interstate Motel.

that is a plus to keeping their rates at $250 a night. But they probably wouldn't get the transients even if they dropped it to $150. Also, I believe that the hotel owner's attitude applies to cheap motels. The Hartford Courant had an article about the plight of the owners of the Berlin Turnpike motels that get a transient crown, but also have people living there week to week. One owner was complaining that he may have to go out of business because of lack of customers. I don't remember exactly what he was charging for a weekly rate, but I remember thinking that he should drop the price. He was just taking advantage of people who couldn't qualify to get a one bedroom apartment somewhere that would of been much cheaper.

It is the same arrogant attitude that some unemployed professionals have when they wouldn't take a job if the salary was lower than what their previous job paid. One year down the road they wish that they took that job that paid 75% of their previous salary.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aries

Take care today Aries, because the emotional landscape in your neighborhood will be full of pitfalls during the coming fortnight, as it has been since the Solar Eclipse on May 20. The more convinced you are that you're right, the harder it will be to navigate your way around forthcoming events. If you feel resentful of someone, perhaps a neighbor or sibling, you need to get your feelings out in the open, rather than burying them deeper, where they'll fester and lead to more problems in the long run.
