2009 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Review

I have a 2009 Steet Glide that I rode 1625 roundtrip miles from NJ to Bar Harbor, Me..
A week later did a 900 mile loop to Skyline Dr, Virginia.
I can't make a bad comment about it, other than, for those type journeys, a taller windshield would be better, along with a trunk.

I also have a 2009 Street Glide, and I can't say enough about how much I enjoy the bike. The fit and finish is flawless as you would expect. I don't know how I ever lived without a radio on a motorcycle now. I get compliments on this bike everywhere I go. I find the seat to be comfortable after hours of riding. Around town, the small windshield is ok, but I plan to purchase a second one for highway cruising. There is little not to like about this motorcycle.

I purchased my 09 Street G back in October and the worse thing I can say is that I wish I had pulled the trigger ealier in the season. I put 1K miles on it before the snow flew and it is fantastic, the improvements over the 08 model really make a difference. I also plan on getting a taller windshield for highway driving.

I just bought my first Harley. I went in determined to get a Road King, but before I left I had purchased an 09 Street Glide and I couldn't be happier. I love the bike! Although I will say it shakes more than I thought it would at idle considering all the improvements Harley has made in this area. Also, I'm not too keen on the key operating everything and also being interchangeable with other Harley owners bikes. This is not a knock on the model, as all Harley's are like that. I think Harley needs to get with the program as far as anti-theft and water-cooled engines. Other than that, a really fun motorcycle. I can't stop wanting to take it out every day. Once it warms up, I'll be on it all summer long. Great bike!

I purchased a 09 Street Glide and just love this machine.I have owned 9 Harleys,but this SG is the best of the pack.Handles great,in the corners for a large cruiser.Great stereo,and number one brakes.Paint and chrome top notch as expected from Harley. This bike turns heads.Have Vance and Hines monster ovals,and a legends air ride kit.Sounds nice,mellow not loud.So if you are looking to purchase a large cruiser and want a real status symbol buy the 09 Street Glide,you will noy be disappointed.

I just ordered a 2009 Black Street Glide after my test ride a week ago,on an unusual 61 degree day in Chicago. This will be my third Harley, my previous Harley was a 2005 Road King Classic.
I had read many reviews before looking at and riding the 09 Street Glide and all the reviews are dead on, this is one of Harleys best machines ever! I thought the bike handled extremely well on the turns and plenty of power on the straight away. The frame and the tire improvements are what make this heavy cruiser feel like a feather in your hands.The engineering of this bike is incredible,only the experienced rider will pick up on all the improvements. As for you first time buyers looking for a great touring bike,this is it! This is Harleys Best Touring Bike and the true American Motorcycle!

Just purchased my 09 SG from BlackDiamond-HD in Marion IL. All I can say is WOW!! This is my second Harley, also have a 01Fatboy. Took a trip to Vegas and rented an 09 Electra Glide to roll to the Hoover Dam. Was on the bike about 12hrs with no problem. That made me take the plunge for a new bike. All the reviews I have read on the 09 SG are on the money. I too plan on a taller windshield. Spend the money for this machine!!!

I rode an 09 Street Glide at the 105th Anniversary Celebration in Milwaukee. I was extremely impressed with the 'Glide' It will be my next bike purchase!

One week into owning my new 09SG and I couldn't be happier. My previous ride was an 06 FatBoy...Great bike but can't really compare. Flawless fit finish and ride. Ive ridden my fair share of older SG and have to say I think HD out did them selves. From the noticeably stiffer suspension to the nicely mounted 96CI motor and not to mention the seemingly lower gearing makes this one hell of a ride.

I had my 09 SG delivered to my house 9 days ago and we already have over 955 miles in only 5 days of riding. I traded an 03 Fatboy and could not be happier. This is one hell of a fine bike and rides like a dream. Smooth, agile, powerful (103 upgrade) and a real blast. I would recommend everyone to put on the Sundowner seat as it is the best and most comfortable seat made.
Do yourself a favor a buy from Grove's HD in Winchester, Va. They are the best and give more then fair trade value on yuor used bike.

My husband and I just purchased the 09' Street Glide in the custom paint of light and dark rootbeer! What a beautiful bike, the color definitely turns heads. When I'm not riding my 1200C, I can sit back as the passenger and enjoy a very comfortable ride. Oh yeah, my husband loves it too! He love the frame change and the 180 tire in the rear. He put the V&H monster ovals and V&H air cleaner. Oh and I surprised him with the chrome front end kit also. All in all we give the bike a 10 !!

I got my 09 Street Glide two weeks ago love this bike ! handles grate . I dont know want took me so long to move up to a touring bike had a wide glide. It's two tone root beer looks fantastic in the sun,came with a 103ci,chrome frontend.

I bought my 2009 vivid black SG in October. I had a 2002 Deuce. Like getting out of a mustang into a lincoln! My buddy has a 2007 SG. After riding mine, he looked at me and said "bite me". He said the changes from the 07 to the 09 is remarkable. I'm happy. Even Mama is happy. Riding on the back of the Deuce and then the Glide made her realize the comfort was worth the money! I put the 6" windshield on. Made all the difference with wind buff.

My brother had an 07 . The week after I bought 09 . My brother couldnt stand it ,after riding mine he traded his in on 09.

Picked up my 2009 Street Glide two weeks ago. Unforunately bad weather has liimited my riding time to just three times out ... The 09 SG is awesome! The 96 is powerful, the new 2-1-2 exhaust is much cooler on the legs, love the 6 speed trans. The frame is much more stable cornering and I love the Brembo disc brakes. All this not to mention the improved looks and the awesome wider rear end ... I would highly recommend the 09 SG to anyone. Does need the higher windshield for hi-speed touring. Looking forward to summer riding season!

I bought an 09 SG 3 weeks ago Rootbeer put Rinhart slipons had the dealer do a wheel swap to the 29 spoke wheels found on the other touring models, they did that for free, I put the 4" wind vest windshield with the flip at the top help some with the turb but I should have went with the 6" as I am 6'1" and still get some turb on the top of my helmet
I traded in an 02 Deuce that I had around 35K into, I miss the power of the deuce (107hp / 105#)and the attention it always got where ever I went, But I love the ride of this Street Glide, and in time I'll have it looking & running up to par.I only have 1,300 miles on it but loving ever one of them. Ride Hard,Ride Long,Ride Free & Thank Every Vet you meet.

I have a 2009 Street Glide after previously owning a 1997 Electra Glide Classic (flexy flyer) it is like night and day. The Street Glide is by far a much better bike.

If I buy a Harley, the choice is:'09 FLHX Street Glide (w/ABS and cruise control) or '07 FLHTC Electra Glide Classic (no radio). What do you guys think? Which one should I go for?
