Please wait...
There was a time when you could view HD bikes of all sorts of vintages at the York facility. but Milwaukee yanked them all and shipped them out there. Why? Many people associate York with HD production or final assembly. I am not sure what percentage of their bikes are assembled in York anymore, but a lot of visitors were more interested in the nostalgic value of the 'old' tour center and museum. A tour of the plant would be boring...unless you were a plant from a Japanese M/C maker looking for some robotics ideas or paint schemes.

Even the 2012's use 1950's technology. Let's all go put on our little piss pot helmets, grab an officially licensed T-Shirt and make obnoxious noise. Remember, full face helmets, proper riding gear and and skilled training don't save lives LOUD PIPES ARE THE BEST SAFETY FEATURE AVAILABLE.

Factory tours started in York for Harley-Davidson during the much maligned AMF days. (Some of the criticism of AMF was justified, but not all, the evolution engine which helped power the recovery was financed by AMF). It is good to see that factory tours will be continued in the new facility.

This is great news for York County! Thanks to Amy Warner for her years of hard work bringing hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world to our community. Thanks also go to the York County Convention &Visitors Bureau for providing the well trained staff who man the Visitors Center and welcome all those wallets full of tourism dollars with friendly smiles and local information. York County is the Factory Tour Capitol of the World! Cheers Big Dave

Are they to have tours at Syncreon also? Much of the work done at the plant has been outsourced to this company. It's in York. They could have a shuttle bus.

How about Surtech that does allof the painting of the fenders and other parts? Do they get to join the tour route? How about all the Japanese electronics manufacturers? Since all the electrical parts are imported are they on the tour route also? Horribly unableson: Assembled (by trained monkeys)in America from imported (cheap) parts.

Especially with the anti-union steamroller in Wisconsin Harley don't stand a chance of staying in York now. Hey all you proud Conservatives that work at Harley - How does it feel knowing that your union dues go towards the Democratic Party and the DNC. Let's make PA a right-to-work state and get every one of these socialist Democrats out of office! Quit selling your souls

The real scary thing is those that wrap themselves in Harley merchandise that is made in Sri Lanka then get on their H-D that is assembled in America from pats that were imported from third world countries and think that they are true American heroes.
