Just a bunch of over-priced stuff made in China. No big loss to Marin.

this company has been done for a long time.
News like this is put out there so that employees leave and the company doesn't have to provide anything financially. It is the first nail in the coffin. Everyone knows this company is done and only the name will survive.

Another nail in the coffin for Marin businesses. Look at what is happening on Fourth St in San Rafael. Vacant store fronts everywhere, the homeless community's new permanent hangout is at Starbucks at Fourth and A where they hassle the crap out of people trying to walk up the street, the old Macy's building can't keep a tenant on the ground floor since it was built...and what is with that gross bargain-basement discount designer clothing or whatever store that took over the place with the rocking chairs? When places like Papyrus Stationary close, that is a big sign. That end of Fourth St is dead as a doornail now; West End, despite the "upgrades" to the street and sidewalks, is even more dead. I predict the next ones to go: See's Candy, Cold Stone Ice Creamery, that burger place next to ColdStone and 1/2 the shops in West End...Fourth St is going to become home to nothing but hispanic groery/variety stores, "spas" (i.e. illegal massage parlors), nail salons and cheap Thai food. So sad.

Why has the IJ tagged some of my words in my previous post so that when you scroll over then, a lame ad comes up for lawyers or whatever? I think I might stop posting now. That is stupid. Makes it look like I did that. This news paper has gone downhill.

94903 said it.$th St tried became too kitschy, upscale-wannabe instead of a lovely down-to-earth place to shop & eat out. I'm guessing the rents were jacked up so high that small businesses could barely make it even before the recession. I'm not at all sorry to see Papyrus or Coldstones go--you can get them anywhere & everywhere else. It would be nice to see local independent businesses open and thrive.

And another business makes plans to flee California for a business-friendly state. Good for them.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Capricorn

You'll have difficulty finding equilibrium in your emotional life at the moment; try to control the impulsive side of your character. At work, your usual powers of intuition will be clouded. Fits of feverishness may bother you and break down your energy. If you can get out into the countryside for a walk, you'll feel much better.
