Metrics metrics metrics...

Really that is all they care about.

If you want change, then change the voc. Collect receipts from the lot and shelves. Give everything on the opinion site a random 1 2 and 3 rating. Hurt the district manager where it hurts, in his/her YTD voc score.

Maybe if we hurt their chances at promotion and make their lives hell, they will treat us like human beings.

They use the VOC and comment sections against us for writeups, lets show them how easily things can be manipulated to make their lives a living hill from their bosses. Its the only weapon we have.

Just be careful. Use cash only receipts. Be random <1 through 3> on categories so the system does not think its fake. Clear your cookies or use different computers. Treat this like union talk to others so you dont get caught. Be very general in the comments section so a manager cant pin the comments on your specific gripes...

But all in all, have fun!

Remember, treat this as revenge best served cold and have a blast watching them scurry to cover their lazy little asses the best way they can.

And when your finally treated like a person, stop. Cause its not cool to ruin a career if they are actually being a good employer.

First of all this is a very dangerous game you suggest.

Manipulating VOC could backfire and cost jobs in your store, if the opinions are not to the DM'S liking he and your store manager will go on a witch hunt to terminate customer facing positions.

"Living hell" is not likely to make them treat you any kinder.

You have lowered yourself to corporate tactics, I see no "Having Fun" with this idea.....

collecting receipts for VOC comments is a good idea. just use TOR or some other proxy if you don't want your personal IP logged

You obviously work at a store for a manager that uses this tactic for employee write ups.And this is your pay back.

It seems you have learned this system enough to know its original intent, and yet you will use it, like your store manager to manipulate any given outcome.

Be carefull what you wish for, you just might get it.

actually you're quite wrong. not only have i never heard of my store manager using this tactic, but i have no problems with my current store management. i have used this tactic once to leave a positive comment for my own department as a whole a few years ago (unethical, i suppose, but whatever, i wasn't bringing anyone down). at the time i felt that management was not noticing how good of a job we were doing maintaining the department and i wanted to try to get some well-deserved recognition for me and the other guys as a whole.

but you're obviously wishing i had censored myself and not given this idea to others who are reading it. oh well, if HD identifies this as a real problem, they can do away with the comment portion of the VOC.

again, i remind people, if they want to use the VOC as an anonymous method of speaking up,
- if you use a receipt of your own, make sure you paid with cash
- use a proxy or TOR to post your VOC comments
- do NOT trust that HD can't access IP addresses of VOC respondents. do NOT trust that HD can't match credit card records with VOC receipt "pass words"

Dont worry about IP addys if doing this from your home computer. The only way the deephole can get that info is with a court order. And if you are not saying anything 'terroristic' then a court order wont happen...

Just make sure you clear your cookies is all in case you use your AIS for anything on your personal computer...

Otherwise, pay cash and HAVE FUN!!!!!!

I have seen many associates write their own comments on the VOC. Incentive for an Homer Award? Yes Indeed! You could tell they wrote about themselves if you knew them well enough. For every 3 Homer Awards the associate receives $50, for 5,$100. Most associates just love to wear their Homer Awards on their aprons as to show off to others and customers in order to raise their self absorbed Inflated Ego. Metrics on the VOC is utterly manipulated. I had that figured out 1 month of working there over 6 years ago. Front End Supervisor couldn't see it. Just like our Democratic way of Voting...They know who is going to be president--2 years before you even VOTE. The Home Depot System is truly truly FLAWED for anyone that has any intelligence.

the VOC system is completely flawed and useless. i don't understand why HD puts so much emphasis into it. it can be easily manipulated, and probably IS often manipulated. it is also a valuable tool for group punishment by district managers when their stores aren't meeting at least a 9.0

you don't know that HD doesn't have access to the computer records of the VOC. you don't know that HD isn't in bed with whoever runs the customer opinion system.

your best bet is to use a proxy like TOR and only use receipts paid for by cash, or receipts you found lying around from someone else. that way, if HD is in bed with this survey company (or actually IS behind the survey), you won't be traced. they'll have to trace you through a few different servers and a few different countries before they have a shot of identifying you. in other words, ain't gonna happen.

what does clearing your cookies have anything to do with it?

I agree. I believe its a way of showing "paper scores" to stockholders, assuming they need validation of customer satisfaction surveys. The program has gone way beyond that, and we all know the fallout of using this for terminations and other unethical manipulations.

whatever happened to freedom of speech? if HD wants to manipulte the VOC they will. do you all remember the "Employer of Choice" survey that was done a few years back? I know for a FACT, that when that survey was done, almost every associate in the store had negative comments and threw the management under the bus. But....that's NOT what the results indicated. Results indicated that everything was just PEACHY at the store. So believe what you want...truth is HD is a corrupt, manipulative, unethical, immoral, lying, disrespectful corporation.

A couple of us in my store have been doing that for about six or seven months now. we don't complain about customer service, we actually say we are associates and then complain about are ASM or store manager. We don't give up are names. we just complain about staying two to three hours late on the weekends when we close with certain ASM or that not one FEMALE associate/supervisor in the store IS QUALIFIED on one machine not even the electric ladder. You know the stuff that everyone wants to say but cant. However not one of these complaint get posted. And last month they told us not give out voc cards any more unless a customer want to say something nice about us. If they have a complaint take them to a manager... store 6378..

Um, the EOC is still being used. No one can go in and change any metrics, no one has access to that. The reason why it is different from what you expected is a lot of people probably voted really high ratings which would counter balance your low ratings.

----Noooo no one can change those numbers(metrics as you call them)and noooo one has access.----BS----someone makes the final tallies and then someone decides what they want the METRICS to say and then the results are released. Just like inventory---inventory can be very bad if the SM is in bad favor but can be adjusted if the SM is in favor. Believing a manager at home deephole is like believing a politician---they bend the numbers to say what they want and they all are liars!!!!!

Daily Horoscope for June 3

Gemini

Do a little lateral thinking today and it will work wonders. Don't feel hidebound because you're supposed to do things in a certain way, because this is a great opportunity to try a different approach for a change. Even so, you may have to play down your unorthodox technique when talking to anyone who sticks rigidly to convention.
