RTV clerk position going by bye

anybody else hear this? heard the RDC will handle the returns/credits.

They haven't come right out and said, but the DOM said at his visit last week, when I send everything to the rdc returns... he couldn't remember the actual name.. rtvs will be packing it up...

Yes, I have heard this, I think it may have come out of the store manager meeting. However, nobody has said the RTV position is going away completely.

good, the job is 20 hours a week... the rest of the time is fluff and sitting on your ass.. our rtv clerk at the 3813 spends about 2 hours cumulative sitting on her ass talking to her son.. im glad thats getting cut...

next they need to cut the expeditors...all they do is sit and chill all day..

As far as your RTV clerk in your store--what are the annual sales in your store?

i am an rtv clerk we were told yesterday by our store manager by the end of summer the latest january the position will no longer exist no more rtv. all rtv's will be sent out.

i heard this at our store too. also heard the order pickers for deliveries is going bye bye too. all ready started in fact. They are suppose to start working some nights and their department head became a bia so they could stay with a mourning shift.

I was told by my ASM that my RTV position is getting eliminated completely by Jan 2012..That I will have to float somewhere else to keep my FT status.

I was also told that my rtv job would be eliminated by the end of the year...will be working crazy hours...hope I can find another job sooooon!!!

I was told also on mon. Did anyone else get told by them reading a script off a piece of paper? Was so impersonal! What about the value wheel "taking care of associates" I am looking at going to MET. If not lowes.

Just be careful! I was an IS when they eliminated that job and created the part-time BIA. I was told I could apply for the part time (and lose the full time med)or apply for a sale position but would have to work nights and weekends. I said I considered myself terminated. Started collecting unemployment and looking for a job. HD appealed. I won but they appealed the ruling and they won. Unemployment said that the offer of even part-time made me ineligible for benefits. Had to pay back all the unemployment I had received. Good luck to all RTV

way don't you try it for about 3 weeks, I bet you won't last long!!

Our store goes live with this in about 2 weeks.We received bins to put RTV's in that go back to the RDC.Our RTV clerk is going to the sales floor.We lose about 20 hours a week out of receiving,since it is supposed to only take half as long to proccess RTV's with the new system.

what happens if the RDC rejects an RTV'd item? does it get shipped back to the store?

Only 20 hours? We are losing 40. We are not scheduled to start the program until late this year--it shuold be VERY interesting.

Yes, RTV position is being eliminated, My store is a pilot, went live 8/18, Receiving does RTV's, some items still get inspected in store, very interesting to say the least.

this sums it up to a tee! I am starting to see customers waking up and realizing what is happening. They aren't to happy in our store. Neither are the remaining associates who are running their asses off. Freight that the night crew doesn't get to just sits in our receiving department for three days cause power hour is so important. yeah right! cant sell it if it is still in the back and we aren't allowed to touch it.

I hold the RTV position at my store and really the RTV position is really not going away only changing,someone will still need to process credits for SO's,ship the returns,pull the buybacks,box the returns,confirm the returns for shipping,and still help in receiving,and the store.
