Sorry!! But I might as well be honest with everyone. Not honestly sure why they are going this route, other then Atlanta saving alot of money. They keep telling us that it will help us the associate, to expand our way of providing service, but it's not. Sure over time you might gain a slight bit of knowledge of an area you are in, but not before the VOC chews you up with bad performance, bad customer service, etc....Everyone I know at my HD is thinking of transferring, but honestly it will do no good, it will hit all HD's eventually. So it will come down to either you adjust and follow the new way of doing things, or you find a new job. Unfortunately it's how things are these days with retail.
Sorry if all this sounds bvery bleak. I walked out of the store today with a very good friend, and she has been at HD longer then I have. She's begun looking for a new job. She's heard about the lay off scare, and the forcing you out rumor. True or not, it's just getting too much.

I work at one of the louiaiana stores and FaST has started. If you think you were getting fucked before you haven't seen any thing yet.I was called into the office and asked if I liked the new schedule, well my answer was NO. I complained about too many closing shifts on the weekends, well guess what I got now. And my store manager talks to us like we are 5 yrs old, I used to like coming to work, but not now and some of the other associates feel that way too. But the select few that the big bosses likes get their way

sounds like the people who dont like the system are the ones who get the special treatment..

i CANT WAIT for it to start and see the 'old timers' actually have to close for once...

If you people wanted seniority, you should have worked for a union when you had the chance.. Now all you special people will be screwed over just like us...:)

"sounds like the people who don't like the system are the ones who get the special treatment"
first off our store hasn't started it yet but we got to talk about it in the town hall media today. the store manager flat out told us the people who were getting the special treatment would keep getting it . He also said that if he felt a dept didn't need an opener they wouldn't get it. Once he realized what he said he tried to back peddle but the damage was done. when he saw that he couldn't he changed it to that's retail if you don't like it maybe it ain't for you. maybe retail needs to be unionized. the fun for us begins in November.

hopefully this new scheduling system will lead to unionization of the stores. i get the impression HD will change their hiring practices to target those who need a job too bad to speak out and potentially put their job in jeopardy.. sad company

Our store goes live the second week of Nov. and from the sounds of it, it will be situation normal. There is NEVER enough aprons on the floor. I'm technically flooring, but everyday I am paint, millwork, appliances, kitchen and bath, and service desk. Literally. There isn't enough of me to go around NOW!

Yes I can see this getting rid of some dead weight, but I can also see this program losing some great people who will burn out.

Says a lot about the morale and peoples self perception, when associates start calling each other APRONS instead of people.........i'm just saying

For those of you who wanted to know about Kronos...all I know about them is that they did our scheduling for Builders Square about 16-17 years ago. Did them good didn't it?
Also, as an " old timer" I've always closed 2-3 times a week, now with this fast BS I'm closing 3-5 nights a week, most times closing more than 1 dept.
Let the good times roll !!!

Does the old timer remember the Sail Inn? I closed it a few times. Visited the store near you when it first opened and they had some very good people back then. Probably changed managers and personnel since then,

At our store we have a lazy witch carol who doesn't know how to schedule and screws everyone over..walks around acting busy and nosing in things she shouldn't but our drunk store manager is so stupid dhe never pays attention to anything to keep the radar of her.

Fast is being manipulated by our store manager. His pets were put in the system at certain availabilities, while the rest of us were inputed as available 24-7. The big money fulltimers are slowly being pushed away. If you work for the depot you give up your family. They don't care what your life is all about. You sign a lease with "satan" you give up what you believe in. There are no rotations. You become a slave.

Sounds like The company has found a new idea to "improve" itself. Will it be effective? I doubt it. it goes against what we stand for as the entire Home Deopt Corporation, "Coustomers First". But what can we do? Nothing but complain, and take it. When it comes down to it, we may lose hours and coustomers but I'm sure that they are watching these numbers and they will see the negitive and positive effects of this radical desison in schedualing. If it turns out they see it to be a bad choice, they will change it. It's a good job to have for most people in the first place. Trust they know what their doing regardless of what it seems like and if you think you know better then quit and find somewhere else to work. Finding a company that isent having similar in these tough times will be nearly impossible. It's the economey and it's what we have to deal with, like it or not.

Does anyone know how long it takes for them to approve the time off. I need to know ASAP so i can get the ticket booked, its a rather important trip. I submitted it the day, about a week ago, I was able to because the Lady that does our scheduling if you could call it that told me she will not take paper request 5 days before we were to impalement this wrenched online crap.

N STORE 6872...I believe the HOMER associates will become very angry after the fast schedule rolles out on dec. 12th. We watched a video about our availability and our store manager just laughed at it. He told us theat know matter what the video said, that if we are fulltime we better be 24/7 available and if we call the district Hr that will upset him and when he is upset that affects the business, BOTTOM LINE. And the operations manager Rebecca just laughed when he said that. As a DH we know better than to put restrictios on our availability but are part timers and even full timers dont know better. When they start getting Harassed even more maybe then they will grow a piar and start a UNION...
