Home Depot Dating Policy

Home Depot is way off on Human Rights for not just the employees but, the public. Managers have NO TRAINING PERIOD. They believe that abuse is the way to conduct business for everyone. Whether, it be a shopper or employee. If they were respectful or even educated people, they will realize that the employees are members of the public and are also SHOPPERS. Education is power HD. It takes a decent human being to manage effectively. If these so called managers and ASMs were trained with formal training in a COLLEGE SETTING, much of what transpires would have failed to exist. You get what you pay for HD. If an exployee exhibits any form of professionalism - he or she is joked upon by members of the management CLAN. THEY ARE SET UP FOR FIRE. Shop at LOs instead is my message for sending our message to HD that we will not tolerate abuse on any level. HD has so call policies for abuse and it is a PAPER POLICY!!!!!!!!

I work in home depot for two years and i just quit three months ago. For me Home depot is a very respectable company and the benefits are good comparing to some retail stores. With regards to the people the managers the dept heads some of them are nice and some of them are not good. Theres alot of asm's and deptheads dont know the meaning of respect and good customer service. When the customers are spanish they ignored it. Some of them dont have compassion dont know how to talk to people very arrogant and dont know what is RESPECT AND GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. and that is the key for the success of HOME DEPOT. That is the reason why I quit because of favoritism, discrimination disrespectful and arrogant. The dept head of appliances is not deserve to be a dept head of that dept she dont know nothing about her dept very arrogant and dont know how to talk or deal with people. Most important she did something that is very un acceptable and dont know what is the meaning of respect to the company and her co workers.

Some of the asms ad dept heads are not doing their job good.

So, I work at store 3485..We got a Special Services DH that has sexually harrassed an associate. SHE kept her position, HE got promoted. She is currently under "internal investagion" for complaints of inappropriate conduct with CUSTOMERS while on company time. She had relations with the then OPS mgr, which is not only against SOP in general..but was HER direct supervisor. Now she's banging another manager..and rumor has it, does lines with the STORE MANAGER!! IF she is not terminated, there is a group of us that will levy complaints about the ENTIRE management team.

had a female store manager who lived with a dh for at least six months. everyone in the store knew it but nothing was done. maybe because they were afraid of retaliation. also asm's socializing with associates after hours, and district managers with store managers. same crap everywhere but nobody cares.

Had a DH just fired for dating a cashier.

Yet have DHs who party with the store manager and nothing is said.

Also SM began sleeping with employee at service desk....she quit before he got fired I suppose.

Depends on who you know.

It all depends, like everything else, whether or not your district manager is willing to enforce a particular rule. In our district I've seen a non key carrying department head and her associate husband be told that one of them had to move stores or quit. I've also seen a MET supe get transferred to the other side of our district when he was promoted that position because his girlfriend was a MET associate. They didn't have any problem at all with it until he went to a supervisory position, even though that position was not in her department.

Stress at Home Depot store 3485 sounds to me like you should try going through proper channels instead of throwing crap like that out about your store. Many was to do it and sounds like you unhappy about your store or job so do something about besides come on a forum and accuse people of things in a nameless manner, makes you look like a gutless person.

Myself and a certain hottie "associate" have been wrappped around each other like dock rope and no camera can catch us.
We know which large appliances or stacks of lumber to hide behind.

Can a ASM's son date an hourly associate? SOP doesnt clearly state..lots of gray area.

All you have to know is, if your mangement in the cincy area you can diddle any hourly you want and get promoted...

Married D.H.'s getting cashiers and paint part-timers pregnant (the FEMALE cashier AND FEMALE paint part timer FIRED, the MALE dh's promoted), H.R. "specialists" picking/choosing who to apply what rules to and "spinning" horrific management practices into "unfortunate misunderstandings", no consistency in application, retaliation like crazy, I have NEVER worked in a place so corrupt!(that I am aware of, anyway).
Positions are posted, then the required 3 people are interviewed before giving the job to the handpicked employee who was promised the job BEFORE the posting. This happens ALL THE TIME IN ALMOST EVERY CASE!!!!!
The Florence, Ky. Home depot manager (Shawn Russell, spends employee fund money on whatever he thinks is best, without any input from employees, one example at 2323...a ping pong table on which he and Burt Curtis, asm, played through many,many manager calls and pages, ignoring all aspects of job.)
I must add here that Mr. Burt Curtis freely flirted and texted with "his Girls" on the front end and played major favorites (guess what the girls with the best hours had in common).
The divine Shawn Russel was promoted to the larger Florence Ky. store after those questionable deeds, and many other sexual and age discrimination complaints, they moved him as a result of all the women in 2323 complaining of the discrimination he was clearly implementing, and he is the one who made commonly known the "resign and get unemployment, or i will fire you and you get nothing...you have 2 minutes to decide" secret tradition of staff reduction at the Home Depot.
So, yes...there is def sop in these situations, but absolutely it depends on what level of corruption your Depot has reached. YAY for 2323 (Cold Spring Ky.,and 2306 (Florence,Ky.)for reaching the pinacle of disgrace! Home Depot has this "wheel of Values" which, over time has become the wheel of bullshit. So basically Depot traded value for bullshit. Way to go, Depot. Retail usually (on average has a life expectancy of 25 yrs or so.) I would be honored to assist in nailing the coffin shut on Depot.

i think it's great when people post store numbers and names of management when talking about the BS that commonly occurs

I work for store 3601 in Pineville NC. I like working there & the only problem we have is a lot of favoritism. If the store mgr or any ASM doesn't like you YOU can forget about advancing within the company.
