This is all well and good but what happens to people who have milk allergies or milk intolerance. There was discussion several years ago about combining Brazil nuts with soybeans. There are many people who have severe allergic reactions to even minute amounts of nuts. The thoughts of unknowingly consuming a soy product made with these nut-soy enhancements is still very worrisome. My son had an allergy to eggs and when he would get his shots/vaccines as a child, we would have to wait several hours in the doctors office to see if he would develop any type of reaction because many of the vaccines were incubated in eggs.

Maria - the protein of interest will be purified out of the milk and bottled for later injection into patients. Whoever wrote this did not make it clear that patients WILL NOT be simply drinking the milk as their therapy. This is much safer than using recombinant bacteria, current source for human insulin and many others, because there are no nasty bacerial toxins present in the milk - these are difficult to purify away. The arguments against this by the Center for Science in the Public Interest(I think that was who was complaining) are utterly ridiculous - the proteins produced in the milk are subject to purification and quality control.

most of our health problems are caused by messing with nature for profit. this is another example of monsantoism that can only lead to catastrophy.

No, truthurts, most of our health problems are caused by bad diet and minimal exercise. Since we no longer have a true survival of the fittest society in terms of physical health, we will continue to see hereditary ailments passed along to succeeding generations. Since we cannot eliminate those ailments thru natural selection, we will have to "fix" them. That's where science comes in.
