Lowell Grant wrote: Dearest Adrain, you don't need to believe what I say, that's why I posted not one but THREE links to reputable news sources about the FACT that we have earned at least $16 billion in profits from the TARP funds. Before you go off on a tangent about this being a program the Corpublicans should get atta boys for, bear in mind that the original demand from bush/Paulson made was on 1.5 pages, not for $760 billion but for $1 trillion that would have had virtually ZERO accountability to the people. It was the DEMOCRATS who not only knocked 1/4 off the tab but insisted on having actual rules that would result in use getting repaid. Believe me, don't believe me, I could care less, facts are facts. Now back to 3rd grade namecalling, already in progress.... Mr. Grant, You're a businessman. If I gave you a billion dollars and all the info on insider trading, couldn't you at least double that billion? Sure you could. Then you just pay me back my billion and you're in the good to gamble some more. That's exactly what we did with Goldman Sachs, they made billions of dollars every single day for 30 straight days--unheard of, an immposibility without insider info--and then they supposidly paid the money back. So why didn't the debt drop? Because it has not. And as I asked Mr. Murphy and I asked in my article, "Even if the debt is repaid, to whom is it repaid and where does it go once it is repaid? We never see a reduction in our national debt and there’s never a tax relief for the taxpayer." When has the national debt EVER dropped? When has your tax burden ever dropped? Are you opposing what I say because you really believe that our economy is doing fine? "Huh" referred you to the real-time figures in the DEBT CLOCK. Lowell, this IS NOT a political party issue, both parties are equally guilty. This is our future and the future of our children. You really can't see that? The real point in all of this is that the people of America are bailing out the Banksters and their corporations with borrowed money that we and our great, and our great great grandchildren will have to repay. Who are you defending here, and to what end or purpose? Are you saying you really don't comprehend that we're in big trouble and that if we don't STOP spending the entire system will come to a halt?! Comrade Grant:
Do us all a favor and take your lies, paranoia, propaganda, schizophrenia, and your "attorney" and go back to the third grade once and for all; even your tedium is tedious.
But first, credit where credit is due: Thank you for at last supporting President Bush.

Typicallakecountyreaction wrote: Dear Al, There will always be misinformed and/or self serving people in the world. It would naturally take one of either kind to promote something that has already been scientifically proven to be false. You can line up as many shills, miscreants, or fools to agree with you as you want and it won't make your argument any more convincing. Another tip, just because the government and pharmaceutical companies can, and many times do, act corruptly does not give you an excuse to just make up facts and then blame it on them. Conversely, my saying you are wrong does not put me on the side of both either. I really would like you to just take a course in critical thinking from Mendocino Jr. College. It would help you immensely. As far as the Record Bee, I haven't yet decided whether they are shills or fools on this subject. Perhaps both. Typicallakecountyreaction, I don't think you'll be able to convince the 1 out of 101 parents in America who say they've lost their child to autism immediately after the last vaccine inoculation. I agree to disagree. Al

Al, the debt didn't drop because the $16 billion PROFIT we made is simply a drop in the $14 Trillion bucket of debt, literally not enough to show up statisically. You are attempting to link 2 different topics together, TARP and the National Debt but they have no direct connection other than the Federal government.$16 billion is about 1 day of spending in our seemingly never ending war with the world. Personally, I believe what Matt Taibbi wrote about GS being a blood sucking vampire squid and that all Wall St. "bankers" above the level of Exec. VP and ALL Directors of those rigged gambling houses be sent to prison for life.... http://gawker.com/5407876/so-thats-what-a-blo...

Mr. Duncan:
Grant is a True Believer and, if a given subject will not further his agenda, he refuses to view it as "FACT!" This should be obvious by now.
Our Government has taken the idea of Credit and turned it into a global Ponzi scheme. Democrats and Republicans alike will realize this once We the People rise up and tell them enough is enough.

Hey Lowell, Actually, it's $5.3 billion a day to keep the lights on.$16 billion makes a splash in anybody's bucket, even a trillion dollar bucket. But GS alone got $12.9 from AIG, and AIG got $60 billion. And GS's fraudulent activities would have been impossible without government collusion. I'll assume that the questions avoided were unanswerable. Again we agree to disagree, Al

So Al, What is your feeling about a Lake County parent not having his or her child immunized for the more serious childhood diseases? I'm sure you know that for someone with little education, or a non-scientific predisposition, your column was enough to cause that to happen. What if that baby then dies from that disease? Al, this is actually LIKELY to happen. The reason I say that, and believe that it wiill happen, is because what you are advocating is an absence of action. All that requires is for someone to do nothing. It is far easier to convince someone they have to do nothing than convince people they have to do something.
So Al, you now have that responsibility on your head. This is something you have taken on because you are an arrogant person. You are arrogant because you believe so strongly in your own opinions over the work of millions of man-hours of work done by people working to create these vaccines. You call yourself a Christian but I believe the overall effect of what you have done now via the amplification of your voice through the Record Bee is to help destroy the future lives of many citizens in Lake County. Yes, it is a big bad world out there but you have taken it as a given that because you profess to be a Christian that you are a good person. I judge people by how they treat people and by my lights you have proven yourself to be arrogant and NOT a good person.

Typical Lake County:
I feel you give too much credence to the power of ink. If there are, in fact, parents who choose to forego vaccinations for their children based on a single Op-Ed column, then perhaps it is best, all things considered, if their children do not grow up to have children of their own.
If that should prove to be the case, then it is indeed a stretch to blame Mr. Duncan for the resulting untold number of deaths from childhood diseases, his religious beliefs (or lack thereof, as the case may be) notwithstanding.
Both Mr. Duncan and the Record-Bee are off the hook on this one, and that is as it should be. Why do you find it necessary to put a particular human face on this issue?

The reason Al deserves this verdict is because he is oblivious of the consequences of his speech. I do not not believe in social Darwinism. That is, it is not necessarily true that these parents would be passing on low intelligence. The decision not to vaccinate could just as easily come from poor education of parents with above average intelligence.
Why are you trying to make excuses for him. He continually writes columns every week that have only emotion, and no critical thinking behind them. He finally writes a column with advice that will actually physically hurt people. It is entirely appropriate to put a face on his actions.
Is there something that scares you when I talk about the actual consequences of irresponsible speech? I think thou dost protest too much.

I make excuses for no one, nothing you have written scares me in the least, and I am not protesting anything. I am simply curious what part of "Op-Ed" is giving you so much trouble.

Typicallakecountyreaction, I started out my article by saying I have read and witness over 30 hours of interviews and information on this subject. This is how I ended my article on Vaccines: "All vaccines aren’t harmful, but the bureaucracy is broken. The gatekeepers aren’t upholding their obligations and they don’t have the best interest of the public at heart. When it comes to our health, we must look after our families and ourselves or the consequences can be dreadful." Here is a video excerpt from a personal friend of mine, Dr. Blaylock, a brain surgeon, speaking on the harm of Vaccines: http://www.youtube.com/watch... And this is why I continue to stand 100% behind what I wrote. Al
