I found this info after buying the car off of Craig's list.It is time for GM(Goverment Motors) to pay up for the other 200,000+ cars that have been effected by this issue. He didn’t make sure his crack pipe was out. happend to me in my geo metro.

Used to be a technician for GM, we loved them, we called them JOB SECURITY, they were always malfunctioning. Our favorite was the 3.1 and 3.6 piston slap, made over 6 figures that year.

The Volt is on the same track, with the fire issue, so if are one of the 1200 that own a Volt, Dont park it in the garage, it will burn your house down!

Government Motors should be closed down. Allow Ford and Toyota to make cars and trucks. Every GM made vehicle has SERIOUS flaws making them dangerous to own. A friend bought a Yucon and the thing has so many oil consumption flaws there is a blog defining a complex procedure to follow in order to isolate the real issue. Turns out many engines have been replaced attempting to fix the issue and ended up with the same problem. GM is incompetent!

Karen M wrote: Anyone interested in trying to get a class action lawsuit going against GM,Please contact me. We lost out 2000 Grand Prix resulting from an engine fire, also burning a garage. GM has denied any liability and therefore will do nothing. This happened 9/15/2010. The fire started within about 5mins of being parked. Lets try to get together and go after GM,this IS THEIR responsibilty!! Please contact us at starrr57@aol.com and put Fire in subject line please. Thank you. Was there ever a class action suite filed?

Does anyone know if a class action suite was ever filed for the Grand Prix fires? My 2002 Grand Prix just caught on fire a few weeks ago 5 minutes after shutting off the engine. It was a total loss burnt to the ground....this is a big loss. I am just thankful it was not parked in my garage or by anything else at this time.

This morning, our 2000 Grand Prix GT burned AFTER we had the recall service done well over a year ago at a Pontiac dealer.
Who the hell fixes spark plug retainers when the flaw is oil seepage from the manifold???
Still looking into potential class action litigation against GM, and I will update this post if I find any.

I have tell everyone that my initial interactions with GM were more then dissappointing. I somehow was able to reach a wonderful gentalman at GM headquarters and he was absolutely fabulous. So very helpful and deliagant in refunding my loss. Much thanks and gratitude to Sean Kelly ESIS/General Motors,LLC He was so professional and I retract any statements I had previously made concerning GM. Unfortunately I had initially contacted a few customer services representatives that didn't value the consumer it truely had no baring on the people running the show! Once more thank you for all your help. Sincerely Kimmy Harvey

It's great you were satisfied, one of very few that have the patience to persue a solution from Government Motors.
