So, another chapter of the Bush legacy finally comes to a close.
Yet another sad example of the failed polices of George Bush.
PSSST - Hey Joe. Bush didn't manage GM, or Ford, or Frysler.

BHO acquired 60% of GM. Which approach is correct?

Toyota and Honda are both highly unionized in Japan or any country where the right to organize is available (their latest assembly plant in China is unionized). Toyota and Honda are both on record as fully supporting any unionization effort in the US plants. However, the states involved have an objection to it due to policy, so they don't make waves.
Japanese automakers are consensus oriented and believe that teamwork is the best policy to harmoniously build the best product possible, they look at US labor, government and management policies as 'disorderly'.
Joe, the States objecting are not the problem for the UAW, it is the workers who voted 2 to 1 not to allow the UAW to organize the shops that were targeted.

The UAW has failed their members and that is the reason organization efforts fail in the foreign carmaker shops.

What used to be the great General Motors is now Government Motors, I don't see failure in their future, yeah right. I guess now they really will be "too big to fail."

And they want the "card check" system to make it easier for unions to organize.

For anyone that is a union please answer this question.

What is required to turn a union company or building into a non-union. I am sure its a vote by the workforce. But how does that process work?

In GM or other large companies is this done by city, state, or by individual factories?

Card Check is our future.
Obama and Biden support this and will help move it forward so that we can unionize the country and take the power of production away from the greedy and give it back to the workers.

Can we do it?
Yes we can!

FORD - The Last American Car Company.

The White House controls GM. The White House gives Chrysler to Fiat and throws in financing to fund it.

Has American Business lost the ability to create strong enough leaders to deal with the crisis?

Where are the leaders in this generation of business executives capable of managing the crisis and leading the industry to a better way?

It doesn't take much imagination to realize what this auto upheaval will create during a long hot summer.

No, quite the opposite, they had some interesting ideas being passed by near beginning of 2008. I was quite interested.
To compete with India and China. First, remove or reduce environmental laws. Remove the minimum wage. Reduce the scope of copyright and patents. And, begin to allow 15-18 million immigrants into the country each year. Any other policy is doomed to failure.
You show your ignorance of economics yet again.

Tell me,what does the minimum wage have to do with GM's failure? Are any GM assembly workers making minimum wage?( If there were, the company might still be solvent).

Copyright laws ? Are they making cheap GM "knockoff" cars in China and India? Is that what caused GM's collapse in your educated opinion?

The 15-18 million illegal immigrants part of the UAW, were they?

Stick to what you know, growing corn and marrying kin.

I got news for ya ... they haven't turned a profit in years, even when times were good! So no check will be coming your way, nor mine. Instead, send a "thank you" card to the Unions.
Obama already did, that's why the unions now own huge chunks of G.M and Chrysler.
