Spoke with GM and they acknowledge a problem but will not be helping me out. So I'll pay to have the brake line repaired again and dump GM for ever. Unfortunately this appears to be a situation that GM is willing to gamble public safety over a service notice to dealers. I don't expect a mass recall but a service notice to inspect brake lines and repair/replace as needed is not too hard on a company that is mostly ran buy tax dollars at this point. I feel for auto workers but GM is not a company I'll ever do business with again.
My Husband has a 1999 GMC Sierra, and almost had a very bad accident due to brake failure. Local shop says brake lines rotted out, and he wont touch it. I'm affraid to ask, but what did dealer charge you to fix this ????
