1997 GMC Jimmy 4.3 L Vortec

I have a 97 Jimmy. When the fuel tank guage hits half tank the needle goes crazy. Any suggestions?

I have a 97 gmc Jimmy with the 4.3 L. it will not start, I can turn the key to the on position and crank the engine but it will not fire. I've checked the spark plugs and fuel injectors and pump. they all operate fine. was wondering If anyone else has had this problem and had any ideas. thanks

so i have a 97 jimmy and just today this problem started well when i have it running but ind park and rev her up she seems like shes doing just fine enough fuel and gas and everything but when i put her in drive and go it feels like she has loss of power. the tranny is fine and when i hit the gas the rpms go high but doesnt seem like she goes to good doesnt matter if im going uphill downhill or flat ground just doesnt seem liske the acceleration power is their. i do have cold air but it was fine could it be starving for air or fuel or what the intake has been installed for a long time now and never had problems but im lost please help email me at 5150turtle@gmail.com thanx

96 jimmy,cranks tries to start but wont stay running. changed the fuel pump and filter ran fine for week, then acted like was running outta fuel?????????

I have a 1997 Jimmy with a 4.3 in it. A really wierd issue here. The vehicle boggs down in the lower RPM range in 3rd or 4th gear. It feels like it is miss firing,(loss of power) when you push down on the accelerator and it shifts down, the problem stops. It is a random issue and it does not stall out either. Changed fuel pump a couple months ago, new TPS sensor and also a couple O2 sensors too. Here is the strange part, it does not kick out an engine code either. My mechanic said it is difficult to figure out when there is no codes in the computer. Please help! I am annoyed with this issue. I am also the original owner. E-mail me at james.forton@comcast.net

i replaced the transmission in my 1997 jimmy 4x4 4.3 auto,i didnt have to take the starter off never messed with the wires.the only wire i took off was the battery.ther are no wires pinched anywhere on it.i have power when i turn the key,when i turn it to start it everything goes dead.can anyone help me out?

I also have a '97, would it affect the gas gauge needle? I notice when I put the signal light on, the gas gauge needle twitches along with the signal light blicking and sometimes it twitches when idling. Would the MAF sensor also affect the vehicle starting and not starting?

I have a 1996 Gmc Jimmy. Just blew up at 195K. new engine has 63K is installed and hooked up. Added a jet stage one chip and throttle body spacer while it was out. problem is: it starts fine. idles fine, but when the gas is pressed it chokes sputters and ultimately dies. Brand new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, cam sensor. all wiring is correct. new spider, good pressure, what could be the problem?

I turn the key ignition to the on position and there is not any sign of power on the instrument panel,the engine cranks but doesn't start,if I wait a few seconds,arroud 10,the instrument panel goes on and turn the key ignition to the start position and runs normaly,this goes on and on two or three times a week,any ideas?

Needs a new ignition switch, not key switch.Its a wiring harness called an ignition switch about 85.00 in Alabama.
