Why so much? I had a daughter that went to Harvard and a whole year didn't cost that much. Including Room and Board. Where is this guy staying and WHAT is his expense account. Robbery to me. Rough estimate...$900.00/day

I used to be a supporter of Mayor Perez but it's just one more bad move after another with this guy.

This is why I voted for Art Feltman last time. I hope Art runs again in 2009, we need an HONEST Mayor in Hartford.

Seņior Perez couldn't come up with a meager $75,000 to bring a world-class fishing event to the Capitol (WHICH WOULD'VE BROUGHT IN $2M TO THE REGION), BUT the frigging city can fork over $58K for a frigging 2-month educational course.

Bad, very bad state.

Giving Hennessy a Harvard education makes about as much sense as giving a wristwatch to a chicken!

I went to one of these "management courses". All we did was party, party, party. We stayed in New York at one of the best hotels, ate at the best restaurants, and used the best escorts (escort service was not included). This is 60k right down the crapper.

Slick Willie wrote:
Most off you people see Hartford as a gang riddle, P.R./N!gg infested hell hole and it's mayor a crook and also founder of the Latin King's street gang. Then why is it that you waste your time writing about Hartford. Why don't you just mind your own business and leave HTFD, alone to fester in (Hell)it will make you feel much better, or is it that you just love to keep poking at the city and its people with your forks and cheap shot sickles?
Hey Willie,

It matters to people who don't live in Hartford, because most of that 1/2 BILLION DOLLAR BUDGET you get year after year after year after year comes from THEM not YOU! Seems to me they have every right to be pi**ed off about how its wasted (year after year after year after year) on dysfunctional schools, keeping labor unions happy and other forms of legal graft.

Maybe the next time you and your lazy entitlement buddies put your hands in my wallet to fund this stuff, we should just say, no thanks, pay for it with YOUR hard earned money (oh yeah, you probably have no earned money, just tax payer funded social welfare programs)! Nevermind.

If some Manager or Mayor tried this cr#p in Rocky Hill, or Bolton, or Windsor Locks, they'd be TOAST!

See, its pretty simple. When you have to work your butt off to pay taxes, put food on the table, pay a mortgage, car payment, utility bills, medical bills, etc, you tend to pay attention to what your elected officials are doing with your money. When its not your money, you could care less (like you).

As long as the "dems" keep funding all those social welfare programs and unions with someone elses (my) hard earned money, you'll keep them in office and guys like Dibella, Eddie, DeStefano, etc will be more than happy to spread around the take.

There ARE two Connecticuts. The one that works and pays taxes (businesses and suburban families), and the one that lives off them (the urban poor, oh sorry...."disadvantaged. ").

I think I can guess which group you belong to. Thats OK. The tide is turning. No more free ride. Better get a job Willie, because there is a very quiet but substantial middle class revolt in progress in this State, fueled by people like you and your democrat sugar daddys.

They keep you hooked, like pathetic helpless addicts, on a host of public programs that they say reflect their compassion and empathy for your plight, but that are really a cynical means of assuring they stay in power. You see willie, w/o poverty, they have no way to stay in power. If they are successful, they lose! Think of that next time someone comes up with a "new" program to "solve" poverty. Put down the crack pipe, willie.

Tell me willie, with all the BILLIONs that have been spent on hartford's schools, are your students better? With all the BILLIONS spent on rent assistance, heating assistance, free taxi rides, food stamps etc etc etc, are the urban poor REALLY better off, or have we just created generations of addicts, an entitlement culture and an entitlement industry we'll never dismantle?

See willie, if you and your buds were REALLY thinking logically, you'd all be and vote republican. That is, if yuo REALLY cared about the urban poor and REALLY wanted to try and do something about poverty.

Be careful what you wish for, because the day will come when the middle class will become sick and tired of paying for this cr*p, and when that happens, the cities WIll be abandoned to rot and fester in your own filth and misery.

Like the saying goes:

. To same old same old,

Republicans have the answer? Sure they do. There are but two types of Republicans:
-Really smart, rich people that represent 2% of the population and control 90% of the wealth.
-Really dumb people who desperately want to become rich (but never will as they desperately pimp themselves) while enabling the wealthy the political means to control virtually everything.
One has to wonder which of these best describes you and some of these posts. You are gleefully being scammed.
Watch the narrowing of the middle class (without which the wealthy will lose all liberty and will never have enough money to protect themselves from the have-nots). Look to Brazil as an example. If a chain is best measured by its weakest link, how then do you measure the quality of a society?
Don't measure all Democrats by a few bad ones. Republicans applied for poor character (a long time ago) and it shows.

Crack heads, drug dealers, Latin King Eddie and a whirlpool of disappearing state money. All entering the black hole of Hartford to vanish in another galaxy or dimension.

Do they send him so he can learn to "count" all the money the citizens of CT throw away on Hartford every year? Funding one scheme and scam after another only to hear the cries of racism and "victim"? Asking for more and more and never being able to support themselves?

Enrolling this clown in Harvard is like trying to get a Special Education student in Yale - it won't do anyone any good at all!

This is so pathetic. That money could be used to hire someone who is probably really needed in the City to do a real City job such as an inspector for L & I or someone in Public Works. He will probably use this to get what if wants when he leaves the City. This is to benefit him after, not now. This has nothing to do with his work in the Mayor's office. It is too bad that people in this City, all races, don't stick together to make something happen for everyone. It is just bad we are so divided on all fronts. That is why nothing will every work because there is too much division and no accountability at the top.

Time for a revolution, middle class!!!
