The attendees should have gone to the DOL website to get a list of the companies that were going to attend the job fair. That way you would know what companies might be a fit with your background. I looked at the list and immediately realized that for accounting and finance people who were at a more senior level it would not be worth attending this event. The list showed that well over half the companies were looking for insurance or financial sales people. Most of the other companies except for Boeringher and Branson seemed to be looking for clerical or line workers. I'm gald I did NOT try to get to this event.

Why is the State Police there. What a wast of time for anyone that thinks they will get a job with them. All that apply and then only hire or graduate 60 a year plus the ones that leave because the job sucks. And the state of CT is paying those Troopers to be there is the best part, wast more state money, the gas for them to come to Danbury and milage on the cars. Ask anyone that was a trooper or is a Trooper and they will tell you to run far away from that police organization.

I was wondering why no one of age ever seems to get hired by Boeghringer? Can't Ridgefield and Danbury place some sort of requirement to hire locally when giving them the tax breaks?

What a great job stimulus package we have! I'm sure all the construction companies were at the job fair yesterday hiring all those out of work IT, sales and accounting professionals for construction jobs. He wouldn't lie would he? What an april fools joke. There is a lot of government stimulus money being spent on infrastructure - including roads, bridges and railways. If you will recall, it was jobs, like building Hoover Dam, that helped pull this country out of the depression. I'd be happy to leave the suit and tie at home to get honest pay and benefits for my family helping to rebuild our country's infrastructure. When we need to work, we need not be so picky.
