Mike Spence was forced to vote for a contract he did not agree!! I doubt anyone who knows him would believe that one at all. It sounds like the ultra-conservative President of the California Republican Assembly has become the West Covina version of the liberal John Kerry, except Spence says "I was against it, before I voted for it". When the vote is 5 to 0, he was not force, but did what he wanted to do, then tries to have it both ways. I understand he voted 4th during the roll call vote, after 3 votes for the contract, thus he could easily have voted "NO", if he had the courage.

3% oversight fee = what it will cost for the West Covina School district, to allow the #1 school to keep on turning out exceptional students. Their are only two members of this board (Spence and Cox) that were looking after the education and well being of students, the rest seemed like memebers of the mafia trying to collect their $$ for using their turf!!

The number one school - you are correct. That is why 3 board members were concerned about changing a successful program. It sounds like you and 2 board members (Spence and Cox)would have traded the 1927 Yankees for the 1961 Mets, traded Shaq O’Neil for a bunch of stiffs, or traded Sammy Sosa to the Cubs - I wanted to give you a Texas example of a bad move.

When something is not broken, smart and involved people ask why is this better or why should we fix it?

There is the danger that this will dull your resolve, but the real path still lies ahead, beyond these temporary hurdles. Don't take this as a setback: there's no need to change your course of action.
