Kristi Papenfuss...you are making a movement out of a momentum shift. The sprawl has not stopped. It, along with other parts of our economy, have taken a break and will resume when the outlook is good. Now is the time to plan properly for that growth and build the infrastructure (including the ability to carry mass transit) to support it.

Why does the manager of transportation for the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce live in Minneapolis? Huh, Zach, why is that. Obviously, you don't have to contend with the mess.

Kristi, that bridge would have cost half that much if it had been built 20 years ago like it should have been.

Is K.J. Behm, Falcon Heights, trying to suggest that this is a description of the typical classroom across the state? Why does everything have to be painted with such a broad brush? Why can't we have standards for normal or typical situations, recognize where abnormal or atypical situations exist and deal with them separately?

"Urban Sprawl" is not coming to a screeching halt! But if that was the case then there would also not be a need for more light rail would there? Regarding the Stillwater bridge, we all know it's in need of replacement, do we want to wait another 15 years so it will then cost over a Billion?

Because that's not the governments One Size Fits All approach.

Kristi Papenfuss, I live in downtown Stillwater. Every morning the traffic lines up way back into Wisconsin due to either the lift bridge, or the traffic lights in Stillwater. A bridge just south to extend 36 into Wisconsin makes a lot of sense.
