Did you hear the coucilmen saying that mayor KT high pressured them into raising the downtown business' taxes to pay for the thing? She told them it had to be voted on that night and passed or the ballpark wouldn't be done on time! Seems like she made sure she screwed all those downtown business owners over! I hope they sue the city and take KT down for how she screwed them over! lol

tulsaone wrote: FYI Kathy Taylor haters: She did not design nor build the BOK Center. If anyone is to blame it's former Mayor Bill LaFortune, the builders, and architect Cesar Peli. Stop blaming the Mayor for everything!!!!! It's clear by your posts that YOU and a lot of people on here have no clue when it comes to construction. The people who built it had to follow a contract and specs. They don't say what materials to use, the owner does. All the builder does is follow the contract and does what they are paid to do. The architect and the Mayor are the ones to blame. The architect is the one who designed it, and the Mayor is the one who came up with the money VIA the people.

Kitty Taylor Frame Lobeck did not have anything to do with this stupid arena except show her ugly face when it opened up. This arena is nice and all, but it was built in the wrong area of downtown, has no parking and no entertainment around it. I feel that it was shoved down our throats and our tax dollars should have been better allocated to things such as roads and infrastucture, police and fire, attracting new companies to the area that will provide Quality jobs and a better tax base. Pocket parks, trails and things of that ilk do not add jobs, add police or fire, improve roads etc. I will never step foot in the arena nor will I ever support anything that has to do with local government unless they address the more important issues that we face. We have not had good leadership in decades and it is time to get someone in the Mayor's office that has no ties to the big money families that really run this town. We need someone who is not concerned about themselves, but the citizens of Tulsa. Kitty Lobeck does not care about anyone in Tulsa except for her elitist, narcissistic midtown friends. She is always promoting downtown development. What about East Tulsa? South Tulsa? West Tulsa? North Tulsa? I will also never step foot in that ballpark because of the way that the downtown business owners were bullied. We have a great park at 15th and Yale. I hope this whole downtown theme fails..........Go back to Florida KT

Where was Susan Savage's name mentioned? By the way, the previous mayor was supportive of this "Vision 2025" package and it was designed and forced through on his watch.........you dolt! Dullard. Look it up.

Please wait...
With the BOK being the second highest in ticket sales in the USA how are we having a multimillion dollar defecite here in Tulsa. Where are all the FEES going that was reported. Ticket sales don't matter if the place is losing money. Where's the books and where's the trasparency. We had an early report months ago, where are we now? One other question is how many shows did the other locations book for their ticket sales vs. the back to back shows we did? With all the other information given it should not be difficult.

The BOK Center, a 19,199 – seat entertainment venue scheduled to open Fall of 2008, is managed by SMG, the world leader in venue management, marketing and development. Headquartered in Philadelphia Yikes... what about paying for the arena.. I guess that is why they want to tax downtown so much... I didn't like it when they pulled police officers off the streets to come work the downtown area when there was three concerts going on in the area!!!! what about us poor folk at home? don't we need protection.. and the businessess?
