Meh. I already ignore the ads on my baseball tickets and concert tickets. This sounds like par for the course.

Ya but if the advertisers are willing to pay, so be it.

I to ignore ads, even television commercials I just tune them out.

Not a surprise. This already goes on with most foreign airlines.

Most European and Asian airports I've been to also have advertising plastered on the outside of the jet bridges.

How long until we see this in the US??? AS soon as airlines figure out how to make a buck from it.

It's going to be interesting to see how low the airline industry will go in their revenue making schemes before they hit rock bottom. I'm waiting to see the Constalletaion, DC6, and Globemaster come back into service.

Those are all about as fuel efficient as an American Airlines MD-80. I'm waiting to see how long it takes for all the airlines to cram every passenger on one of those cramped, dingy, antiquated American Eagle Fokker 100 Friendships.

Desperation makes for strange decisions.
3rd party ads on boarding passes are a missed opportunity for the airlines to maket their own products - whether they be airport lounges {perhaps a discount coupon for the lounge in the airports the flyer's going to be at that day}, for the airlines frequent flyer promotions, vacation package travel promotions, etc, etc.
In their desperation for outside revenues these carriers are shooting themselves in the foot - yet again. Sometimes more IS less. How long will it be until we see advertising on the outside of the overhead compartments, above the convenience in the lavatory, being projected from the on-board entertainment systems, on cups, napkins, air-sickness bags, along the gangways to / from the aircraft, in the baggage claim areas, etc, etc, etc.....
Pathetic.
Won't somebody {Buffet, Gates, etc} please start building nuclear reactors to provide electricity to a national grid of high-speed rail? Please!!! How long must we endure the tried and failed business models of commerical aviation in North America? HIGH SPEED RAIL - NOW!!!

I wonder how long until they charge extra for printing a boarding pass without the ads?

Guarntee I'll never use one product that appears on a boarding pass. Great negative product placement - associate your product with a loser legacy airline.

How about a coupon for flight on a decent airline? One that doesn't su*k? That is about the only coupon or advertising I'd care for on a boarding pass.

Na, that will only make the plane heavier thus more passenger out of pocket expenses.

I am waiting for the airlines to wrap their planes in ads like the CTA does on their buses and trains.

Watch the movie "Idiocracy". Far beyond this little airline crisis, it makes a larger statement about where we are all headed.

I personally can't wait until they implant an ad chip into my brain which will change the ad I see on my eyeball every time I blink.

Something they realistically could do is sell advertising/pop-ups on their websites. Wouldn't be totally useless if it were for hotels, rental cars, etc. while you're planning your trip.
A bit annoying, yes, but revenue none the less.
