Yes they are, but not all airlines are paying high Diesel fuel prices to bus their passengers home. Anyone know how many buses are needed to bus 189 nwa passengers?

FW, part of the Northwest Airlines 'goodwill'( a new term for cost savings write-downs ) Budget is for the Retainer Fees, paid to the Greyhound Corp. to keep their flying customers moving, by land, sea, or air; not necessarily in that order.. that is, providing those Expensive Law Firms, haven't taken Dougy to the Cleaners, per say!!

Isn't it amazing that no other airline has ever had to bus passengers to their destination after a diversion. You would think that would have happened sometime, but I guess not or you would have mentioned it. Hey Googs, by the way, did you see the news reports about Obama visiting Israel and wearing a yarmulke? Kind of funny for a Muslim do do that isn't it?

The first part is Yes, NWA holds the world record for bus transportation for distressed travelers; the second part is Barack Hussien O'Bama wearing a YARMULKE', whatever that is, he sure as hell is not going to wear Muslim dress gear like O'Sama Bin Laden; the Israelies do have restrictions on Visitors who use their Political Clout to get a stage (worldwide) for a Photo-Op and how they appear to the People of Israel.. Any More Stupid Questions??

It could also mean that NWA was one of the few airlines that accommodated the pax as others just left thew waiting in the terminal or sitting outside waiting for a travel voucher to get to the nearest hup or spoke.

Come on guys, every time NW has a negative story, you are on it like white on rice. But SWA gets caught REDHANDED skimping on maintenance checks and not a peep out of you. Why is that?

This is why your posts hold NO credibility whatsoever.
If you want to be a reporter, you have to be unbiased. That's not the case here. The case here is angry ex-employees who just live their lives to vent at people who work hard and try to feed their families.

geez people, obama ia a christian. and if you knew anything about the middle east and islam, you would realize that hussein is a name as common as mike or joe! and give the man some credit for respecting someone else's religion. whatever happened to the idea of religious tolerance? one of the founding fathers' basic american ideals. there are about as many muslims in this world as christians

and btw, what does your post have to do with nwa trimming flights? notice how many legacy airlines are expanding with new routes to the middle east? they're going where the money is because they sure can't make a lot of profit on domestic routes.

The subject of MRO's, HAVE been brought up here. Yet the nwa cheering section thinks there is nothing wrong with giving away control of quality. As long as a savings can be shown on the bottom line, all is well.

Slow it down a bit, I've tried to read a few of your posts, I'm sure you are trying to make a point, but the typos and ranting are getting the better of it.

SNSD, it's obvious to me that you were never burned by NWA, I was in the Atlanta Tech Ops. when Andy Nobody, closed it, like many others in MSP with closure of Jobs and destruction of Hangers, like many Out Station Outsourcing Jobs gone By-By, like the look on your confused NWA face when Dougy ( probably King Richard ), tells you and many others, Your Services Are No Longer Needed, but you can apply for Un-Employment Insurance, Maybe? Will NWA ever face the FAA, Oberstars Committee, the Multiple Hearings Congress will someday have on their Bleak Maintenace Performance, such as the SWA (LUV) fiasco; let's hope so .. as far as credibility of what we have to say on this thread, I could care less what you think, what ONG thinks, what Andy Roberts or any other Mis-Management Thug thinks.. If this Miraculous DAL/NWA Merger/Acquistion FAILS, then NWA will most likely go Chap.7/Liquidation, like PRONTO.. Any More Stupid Questions, baggage handler?

this is bs, aren't there fuel surcharges or increased fares to compensate for fuel like any other business? Itbis bankruptcy payments that are killing the profits. I'm glad the strikers have shut up.

We did bring up SWA. The whole industry is in dangerous shape ! However, nwa locked out their mechanics and that makes them the worst of the lot ! Now you say DAL is offering the scabs jobs. Wow, that really hurts. There isn't a good airline job left, so you just hang in there. No one ever said ricky was smart. Frank did the same thing at CAL. And things never got better there until they dumped him, and brought in Gordon. A man from the ranks, and knew how airlines work. And best of all... he worked his way up from the hangar floor. So take your little dig an stuff it. You forget... we have worked for nwa, you can't say anything that hurts us. What's the saying, "you can't piss me off, I've worked for northwest" !

I only hope Mr. Steenland CEO NWA still gets his 21million dollar bonus when the airlines merge. He needs a brief pad of money so that he can find another CEO job that will pay him a wage that he is used to getting.

Not a baggage handler but what problem do you have with that group?
I guess that may be why the IAM did not honor? Stupidity on the IAM's part but that just shows the mentality of union folks like you. Me Me Me.
Pay those monkey throwing baggage handlers minimum wage. We deserve $40+ an hour and want "a bigger piece of the pie" Am I wrong?

Nice to see your true colors finally coming out. Validates what I continue to say: you brought your own destruction. Live with it. It's long over and life goes on.

I don't particularly have a problem with Baggage Handlers, but you run your mouth so much about everybody else who Hates this Dysfunctional Company run by Idiots and refuse to Identify who the hell you are, I figured you just threw bags? King Richard already has the IAM in his cross-hairs for his Non-Union Airline, and already has those jobs Outsourced at Delta.. You say We (AMFA) brought on our own Destruction, it's more like Steenland destroyed a once proud Airline, by destroying the Loyalty & Pride of his Employees.. If your favorite Auto Mechanic is worth $50+ an hour to work on your car, then a FAA License A&P Mechanic is deffinately worth $40+ a hr. to work on your Hi-Tech Jet.. Got any more smartaleck answers?

So, why aren't you making the 40 bucks? Rampers fault? Steenland? Hell just Blame Mickey Mouse for that matter. Give us a break with your auto mechanic jibberish. It's obvious there is a glut in AC mechanics. Heck, they replaced 4000 of you with what, 1600-2000 something like that. You predicted that NWA would fold in a week. You predicted that planes would "start falling out of the sky" How can one believe anything you people say?

So, who is the smartaleck? You are too high on yourselves, come down a notch. Your not rocket scientist's so settle down already.

Never burned by NWA?

You really know to stick a shoe in your mouth don't you?
I took heavy paycuts, just like you all were supposed to do. But you did not, you walked so you need to accept the result of your decision.

If you work for NWA (away from Bldg A) you got burned. Stop weeping for yourselves. People at NW still have homes, adjusted for the reductions and kept decent paying jobs. You guys tell the "bagsmashers" if you want more money then get an education and earn it. Mechanics are not the top of the food chain either. If you want better, than earn it. Get a degree. Go into engineering and really learn about what you work on. Then you will make big bucks. 2 Years of trade school for training does not constitute being the know it all. And it's hit and miss with AP's some of you are absolutely brilliant and even have upstaged engineers in bldg c. Seen it.
And then, some of you are not worth the paper the ap license is printed on. Seen that too.

Oh, and I forgot, the union will protect those slugs while leaving good honest workers hanging. Seen that the most. And I referring mainly to the IAM.
