We won't have to worry about anyone making such a non-union statement as below when building the Mall of America expansion....paid for with tax payer money.
As Rep. Anzelc said yesterday..."we fixed it so any contractor working on the mall will have to pay union wages - union or not". I'd say send him south awhile to get educated.

Bastian said a reference last week by a Northwest union leader to Delta's "plantation-style management" was outrageous. Speaking on behalf of Delta's employees, "we were offended," Bastian said.

Is Delta also "respecting" the money lent to Northwest by the State of Minnesota?

If Delta takes over NWA, it is between Delta and the state. A company that takes over another takes over its assets and its liabilities.

In 2007, I took two vacations. NWA both ways on one trip and American and Delta for one leg each the second.
Based on my experience, I really believed NWA does all that it can to make their passengers as uncomfortable as possible. Of the three, NWA had the least leg room by far with my knees jammed against the seat back in front of me and I am only 5-11.
In my opinion, good riddance NWA!

Does anyone care? When Delta takes over there will be less jobs here in Minnesota. It also will affect other business. There will be thousands of job losses. Will Minnesota take care of all the employee's who loss there jobs? All the good paying jobs are gone. The US is going to hell!
I pray to God, this merger doesn't happen!

Yeah , we care about as much as everyone did when the company , government and other unions ganged up against the NWA mechanics and sent them all to the street to be perminantly replaced! You're next!

I hear what you are saying, but the merger will happen. All it needs is approval from the Feds, and IMO there is no reason they would see to stop it. The only reason NWA lost it's MN HQ is that MN has a hostle business climate. There is no reason for businesses to come here.

Who will be next? Best Buy? Target? 3M?

What reasons do they have to stay?

MN is predominantly an office climate, not a manufacturing climate. It's easy to relocate an office.

We're going to get to the point in this state where ANY job will be a good job! The disparity between the have and the have not's will get increasingly larger. Those stuck in the middle will at least have jobs, but will end up paying more in taxes to make up the shortfall in just about every budget...

I agree with HVH - our State leaders need to provide an incentive and tax climate that will attract and maintain businesses with good jobs.

If a company finds it's cheaper to headquarter their business elsewhere, then that's what they'll do. Our market-driven economy encourages firms obtain the lowest costs feasible, so that their product or service will in turn be competetive in the marketplace.

Our national gaurd trrops should seize the minneapolis headcourters and all the planes at the airport until delta writes a check for $500million. The ceo of northwest should also have the 18 million he got for getting northwest thru bankrupcy and the 22 million for selling out the airline to delta siezed. The money should be shared with all the employees that will lose their jobs because these immoral and un-Christian robber barrons have driven this once great airline into the ground. The ceos in my opinion should be charged with grand larceny and jailed. They are the scum of the Earth and will meet their maker one day and most likely will burn in hell for how they treat their employees.

All the NWA employees posting here should realize that most Minnesotans are sick to death about hearing you whine about your pay and unions. When I buy a TV
or automobile, I don't give a rip about how much the people that produced it made. You employees have ruined NWA just as much as management. I guess the state should hire all those that are layed off after the merger because these people couldn't possibly do anything else in life like the rest of us can. I wouldn't fly that crummy airline with free tickets after the horrible service I've had over the last 10 years. Now how do I really feel about NWA?

Hey NWA employess, at least Delta appears to be honest unlike the

MatlinPatterson company Global Aero Logistics

and the lies told to the ATA employees from what I have been learning lately.

Wow. Talk about an 'it's all about me' attitude. I would say I'd have to agree that you received crummy service for the past 10 years. I'd also have to say that you deserved every last bit of it. You're a vile human being and you get what you give. It's gonna be a blast to see all the whiners from MN watch their airline get smaller and smaller and more and more expensive. Guess all those nice non stops will eventually go too. Then all of us can at least grin just a little knowing you go exactly what you deserved.

Hate to say it practicality, but since you live in the twin cities you should give a hoot. Guess who will be paying for all the layed-off employees? How about their food stamps? How about, oh never mind!
