Let me get this straight. The airport authority at CVG paid a consulting firm over $85,000 to tell them to tear down a 37 and a 65 year old terminal building that are not even being used or needed? Was somebody at this consultiung firm somebody's brother in law who heads up the CVG airport authority? WHAT A RIP OFF OF PUBLIC MONEY !!!
If they just asked me what to do with two unused, 37 and 65 year old terminal buildings that because of the cut back of hundreds of flights per day were probably going to remain empty forever, I'd of told them to tear tham down and only charged the CVG airport authoriy $100 !!!!!!!!!
While it may seem as simple as you state, when you re-read the article you will notice that there have to be plans to store the art work, haul off contaminated materials from both terminals and replace structures w/ green space that has to be maintained etc. After DFW opened up, everyone wanted Big D to tear down Love Field and develop really expensive homes, shopping etc. As a interim, an ice skating rink and game arcades were installed and kept the place alive. When that went belly up, they almost decided to tear the place down..........then cam Herb and his Posse, then LaMar and the rest is history. DAL is a thriving AP w/ 60 plus yr old bldgs. Just sayin'
