Full story: www.washingtonpost.com

Some resistant South Texas landowners and a deliberate federal judge have come between the government and its goal of nearly 700 miles of Mexican-border fencing by the end of the year.

Continue with the fence where they can and put armed guards where they can't build with the right to shoot

Good! This makes no sense to spend tons of money on a fence/wall. The days of the cold war and walls are so over.

What needs to be done is to impose a HUGE fine on employers that hire illegal immigrants that do not have visa's or work permits.

Every state should have a similar law somewhat to what Arizona is doing.

This is a simple solution that can solve most of the problem.

Why not enclose the entire state of Texas by putting a huge fence around its north, east and west state lines and allow all them immigrants to enter. Utilize Texas as a staging area until the Hispaniards are all legal American citizens. THEN and only THEN, allow them into the rest of the US for whatever reason(s) they want to be here. If the Mexican men violate this regulation by entering the US illegally, put them in uniform and ship them to Iraq and Afghanistan to help us fight the whack-jobs over there and earn their "Right to be American citizens." Out of sight, out of mind... problem solved!

There is a law called eminent domain for the good of the majority property can be seized at a fair market value and the owners can not stop it. They do it all the time for places like walmart to generate jobs in an area. But just like Immigration laws the ones that aid the rich and poloticians are the only ones worth enforcing. To hell with the American taxpaying citizens. It is time for a tax revolt when these so called judges don't get a paycheck any more maybe they will start to serve their employers instead of special interest groups.

The reason the land owners are raising hell the fence is not on the boarder it is back about 500 to 600 yards. They lose the use of that land. But they get to pay property taxes on it and of course they could never sell it, who would be dumb enough to buy it.

Yes, the US government justice department is deeply flawed. ANYONE can become a judge. We have NO idea who we are voting for.

All it takes to be a judge is an infinite capacity for boredom as they sit through proceedings.

Right now, I'm going back to bed.

Homeland Security? The troops should be on the border protecting America, instead of Iraq protecting Halliburton's profits. Mexico is more of a threat to America than Iraq or Iran, unless your brother Jeb is married to the Mexican government then you wouldn't want to stop the drug smugglers either.

Another reason they are resisting is that's occupied territory, there are areas in some south Texas towns that literally fly the mexican flag!

I really don't like the immagrants any more than most of you. However, walls do NOT work. History has shown us that. The great wall of China wasn't very effective just impressive. The Berlin wall finally came down and the wal in Gaza was recently blown up. Walls just don't work. Besides the United States owns the land/water 1/2 way across the Rio Grande. Why put up a wall and essentially give up the water and some of the land? Really though the wall/fence will not work. What we need it hard laws in place to prevent these yo-yo's from coming over here and getting on our system. They sneak over here have babies and then bam the baby is a US citizen and get full use of our health benefits paid for by our tax money. We need to close these type of loop holes. We stop the benefits they keep getting and they will stop wanting to come across. I know many will still want to come over anyway but lets not make it easy for them. I for one don't want my money paying for their benefits and I really don't want to pay for a wall/fence that won't work in the end.

Land mines, razor ribbon, and guard towers would be cheaper and much more effective than a wall.

The government can't seem to manage anything without screwing it up, can they.

I lived in AZ, the walls won't stop it. The government could fix the problem if they really wanted to they, but they don't want to.

What? Are we going to go back to the days of destroying farmers for the "sake" of progress.

Don't we ever learn anything.

I doubt it no more than a political game to control water rights. It IS our next major resource issue if everyone remembers.

Why is the Liberal MSM and the politicians so DISHONEST??? This ILLEGAL INVASION is an act of WAR.

Because of the POLITICAL CORRECTNESS of the MSM the US cannot even defend itself.

We are not a democracy but a MEDIAOCRACY where the Rich control society by controlling the flow of information.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Taurus

Get involved in financial transactions at your peril under today's Lunar Eclipse, because certain people will use them as a stick to beat you with. For instance, if you ask someone to lend you money they'll either make you feel guilty about it or dredge up all sorts of past instances when their trust was betrayed. You would also be well advised to avoid any show of possessiveness or jealousy, even if you feel it, unless you truly don't care about the disastrous outcome.
