that 25 mil could of gone to a million better uses if you ask me...
there are homeless shelters...
low income familys struggling to make ends meet...
donate some of that money to those organizations...
better yet..... since you are so into education....
our community colleges, our UC's and CSU's are facing budget cuts...
and these college kids from all different schools, and all walks of life, rich and poor, and all colors in the so. cal area (and actually the whole state) could of benefited from that money....
now that is a way to leave a legacy....
instead it is sitting at some over privileged rich kids school... that probably doesn't even need the endowement that much.... if at all...

The money gets put in the endowment that pays the ongoing upkeep of the school president's mistress.

Here is a quote from the article:
"Her gift to the school is an addition to earlier endowments, including a 1985 establishment of a scholarship fund for minority students pursuing doctorate degrees in education."
P.S. Minorities, in my view, are black and brown.

I tend to agree with you. But there is a status associated with her choice.

I already know there are probably plenty of rich white kids at USC and that is not my point. I would continue discussing this with you but your reply was quite contentious.

This is very positve news. This sends a very important message to the up and coming young people about persistence, accomplishment, and humbleness. God Bless the Dauterive Family!

Mr. and Dr. Duaterive's contributions to the University of Southern California and its legacy of diversity and global outreach are monumental. The Dauterive family has made a lasting and historical donation that has the potential to foster and impact students for many decades to come. The Dauterive contribution is inspirational and indicative of the true potential of genuine intellectual and dedicated leadership through educational pursuits.
