Parked Lexus RX 330 in Costco Parking lot (Plano ,Dallas store) and went inside to shop (spent little more an hour shopping)when i came i saw a dent back on SUV , cart collector guy was collecting carts and i asked him how this happened , his response was don’t know i didn't see anything hitting the car and he said you can report the incident to manager , started my SUV and parked in front of the entrance to show the dent to manager , his first comments don’t know how it caused , can't help . i said i want to write a complaint about the incident , he then took me inside the store gave me a report form and took some picture of the dent and said he is going to fax the report form to Costco office and they will contact you .
after 2 days i got a call from Costco just to say it's not Costco problem and its owners risk and they are not liable to any damages in the parking lot , i really don’t understand why she called me just to say we are not responsible and went on to say call my insurance comp , i would say it’s none of Costco business whom i'll go to fix my car .
I don’t see any solution to the report I filed, spending more than hour discussing with manager and taking pictures of the dent, Costco courtesy call is a decent way of escaping .
is Costco taking any measures to prevent such incidents like a security car making rounds in the parking lot , installing camera's ,etc ..
i don’t see anything coming out from them except making a call to say it’s not our problem and we're liable to any damages.
what you do ? in response ?

Wow. You expect them to protect every car in their parking lot? Neiman Marcus won't even do that for you. You are responsible for your vehicle, not Costco (or any other place where you shop).

They did not tell you where to get your car repaired, they suggested that you call your insurance company. You do pay insurance for a reason.

I can understand your frustration, but don't waste your time and energy on trying to blame Costco. Call your insurance company and get your car fixed.

that is not an admition of guilt and they are not required to repair the dent because

Get a life. Why should Costco pay for this? This makes no sense. How are they possibly liable for this? Do you seriously expect them to protect every car in their lot? If you were the owner of this location, would you do the same? This is why we have insurance, its the law. To protect all parties. You have wasted more time complaining and looking for Costco to bail you out. You have wasted their managements time and now mine. People like you are always looking for someone to bail them out. I have been a Costco member for years and have the upmost respect for that company. From the way the treat their members to the employees. I have seen members like you. You are probably the type to return your christmas tree every year just to upgrade and not have to put away last years in the attic. Try doing the right thing for a change and take responsibility.
This is a joke right
