Somebody should tell Costco they are missing a rally good opportunity downtown LA. There is all kind of land off Alameda. There are 40,000 people living there now with a average household income of almost $100,000. They are driving to Costco stores in Los Feliz or Burbank now. Both stores are inconvenient and overcapacity. An just imagine the possibility of a Costco with AMPLE parking...

Yuck. I really don't think they need a Costco at the proposed site of "the Village." It would be better suited for the Catalina Yacht factory lot. I blogged about this here: http://www.hillsofwoodland.com/2009/11/01/a-p...

DTS wrote: I want my movie theater and miniature golf course back!! yeah, and the ice rink! why build another costco so close to roscoe and canoga? if they close that one it cancels out more jobs, except to build it. it's like having 2 home depots a few miles apart. oh yeah, there is one at variel and one at fallbrook. can't have too many big box stores, i guess. unless the economy tanks. hmmm, that happened too. i guess having a store close to home is what people want so they can be within walking distance. no? lol that would mitigate the traffic. right mr. zine? as well as adding so many new apartments in the area close to bus lines. we all use those to shop don't we? right. sigh. the good days of having warner center as agriculture are long gone.

SAVE SMALL BUSINESS JOBS BY SAVING COMM R.E. Stop spending OUR MONEY UNLESS IT CREATES JOBS !!!(The 1930's were "Hell On Earth".) Avoid 20% Unemployment. President Obama: Keep COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE FORECLOSURES from occurring and CLOSING SMALL BUSINESSES. Use part of last year's JOBS BILL, that our children will be paying for; to AVOID 1930'S style full blown DEPRESSION.

I rarely shop at Costco and bulk stores and we already have one nearby along with Smart and Final. No need to duplicate efforts. People flock to the Americana at Brand in Glendale in the heat of the summer because we love the outdoors. The live entertainment, eateries, and boutique/name brand stores are all a draw even in a down economy. Regardless of how you feel about Costco, it would serve the west valley to create the same environment for the residents and visitors alike so we don't have to flock to Thousand Oaks, Glendale, and now Santa Monica. When are we gonna get with the program?!
