York official, residents criticize possible cuts to Human Relations Commission

The state provides the same services. Save the $250,000 & disband this joke commission. No mention of Seatons salary or others within the commission which is probably the majority of their budget.

This is great....So many *****s come out to support such a waste of money, but when they were threatening to cut Polic and Fire, no one but a few neighbors gave a ****

I believe the commission should stay if it can prove it actually helps and improves the life and the treatment of minorities. Most minorities think society owes them something and it seems they take very little pride in the city of York. I see trash thrown everywhere and graffiti sprayed on peoples property. They hate the police who are there to protect them. Most peoples attitude is "What can the city and the society do for me?" If we strive do make the city better for ourselves, that will make the city a better place to live, work and play. We should organize volunteer trash clean up crews around the city and clean it up and make it look like were proud to live here, instead of depending on the city government to do it all for us. That is just one of many examples of things we can do and it will also set a good example for are children. The list is endless of small thing we can do as a community and as citizens to make this a better place to live. Most everyone talks about disrespect this and disrespect that, but we are the ones constantly disrespecting others and our city, our neighbors and our police. We need to change.

What will the Human Relations Commissiom do about the video posted on the internet that another agency has not already done?

She didnt seem very convincing to me. It appears that they may have a plan to carry out but not have the ability to execute it.

They are taking from their own while stealing from the American public.Thus we become a weak economy with the trickle down of these programs and others similar that contribute to the idea blacks and other minorities are suppressed through those who work hard and pay in to the system. in a previous report, it was stated that the commission handled 22 cases in 2009. 250k divided by 22 = $11,363 per case. One was a case of a person being turned down for a room at a hotel. spending over 11k for a case like this is beyond my reasoning. Disband this waste of money and reduce the taxes on the people.

I think the example of Asian was provided because Asians are a small minority population in the US, but always manage to do very well. The only time the Asiains ever seem to have an issue with racism, is when blacks brutally attack them for being Asian.

The fact of the matter is, Asians are the most discriminated upon race in the US. Their higher intelligence and acheivement as a race means they are held to much higher standards than other minorities and whites as well. http://www.usnews.com/articles/education/2009...

I really like just more excuses post...and I like city dweller's post. What they SHOULD be doing is going door to door and get these welfare sucking leeches off their a$$es and forcing them to do community service for all the welfare, free health care and food stamps these losers take.
