I read the original story, and as a result I now have a very different opinion about this case. Well at least now I know the facts.

"...a pawn, in a sense, in a conflict between the archdiocese and these lay people."
Don't make the perpetrator out to be a victim here. If this woman had been accused, arrested, and sentenced when this happened, she would be serving a lot more time than one year. May she reconcile her life on earth before it ends...and may the ignorant, insensitive bloggers who claim these guys must be gay or they would have enjoyed 'it' recover at least a few of their brain cells...and sense of humanity.
If the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and other elements of the Church had been honest about sexuality from the start, I honestly believe a lot few people would be suffering from the effects of sexual abuse.

Get on with your lives and leave the old women rest in peace. What ever happened to all that Christian teaching. Forgive and forget, move on with your lives.
Amen! Besides, these poor woman are usually recruited through guilt into being nuns. Consequently they are oppressed, abused and frustrated. To top it off, they are denied the use of their natural sexual affections do to the pagan indoctrination. Not to make excuses for her, but it's an unfortunate situation all the way around.

They were 16 years old & having sex with a 40 year old woman and feel "victimized"? GET REAL. Time for the two losers to move on & let this woman, who dedicated her life to the Church and teaching children, to die in peace. Sad it happened but get over it.
People who dedicate their life to the Church are not suppose to have sex with the minors that they are teaching. I don't know what kind of Church you go to but evidently it advocates breaking the law.

The woman broke both her vows and the law. If she didn't want to do time she should have remained faithful to both.

Do you also have sympathy with the priests who had sex with sixteen year old boys? I bet you don't.

Thank you so much for posting this link. This woman was a predator and the Catholic Church covered up her crimes just as it did with priests.

She deserves as much mercy as she showed her victims...NONE.

I never believed that humans could live where they would prevent themselves from doing what is natural. I think suppressing sexuality obviously does a lot more harm than good. I suspect there were many people that engaged in sexual activity and it was never reported and I mean between adults. I mean could you imagine you have male priests and female nuns and at one time a lot of them were young and full of life-hard to believe there were not relationships formed.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Pisces

Relationships are kind of shaky under this Lunar Cycle and you may even get the distinct impression you're heading for a major showdown with a certain someone. Although this feels like a crisis, don't let panic or desperation push you into decisions you would normally steer clear of. You may think you've reached the end of the road, but this isn't a good reason to go off the deep end and make drastic decisions. Proceed with caution!
