Carmike ends free ticket policy for wheelchair bound

After reading some of the online articles my first question as a disabled woman myself would be Why Now after doing it since 1998? Some articles said "contract violation" but how can philanthropy be a violation after 10 years, especially, not be crude, but you can write it off as a donation. Lawyers and many do "pro bono" things all the time, so since when is giving back suddenly bad for business and "beyond our control" If Carmike really wants to offer this after this long, someone out there can surely help you

The fact is Carmike's new CEO is cutting expenses everyhere he can. This company has been (an in my opinion still is) managed very poorly.

Carmike. like any other exhibitor, is only allowed a certain amount of passes per movie. If the exceed that pass amount they are fined by the studios.

Instead of cutting passes in other areas, they decided to cut their wheelchair policy out.

A better question is that Carmike used this policy to avoid further ADA lawsuits due to their compliance issues. It will see where that goes now...it was very hard for a wheelchair confined person so sue Carmike in the past when they were not even paying to gain entrance...
