The burden is undocumented illegals sending money back to their homeland, having anchor babies, and generally soaking the medical system and so many social services dry. Pensions, medical issues, and the economy have all taken a dive in the last twenty years: just look who is in charge and what EEOC, AA. and other mentally deficient laws empowering idiots has created. Like the current article, the new strive to find off subject issues to steer the herd over the cliff, avoiding the root causes for the economical, social, and cultural collapse is their agenda.

I am disturbed by the title of your article. Burdened by the elderly. Do you think of your grandparents as a burden? Everyone in this world , no matter their age is significant. Especially the elderly. We need to take care of people who are vunerable. The young and the old. This is only human. If we can't do that...

I think the American baby boomers are just going to continue showing us that they truly are the most selfish generation ever to walk the earth...

I like the way they phraised it. " THE RISING BURDEN OF AN AGING POPULATION". This so called aging population have been the backbone of this country, working to strive success and sacraficed so they could someday retire, not to mention contributing to to the welfare of others who can't work, or who refuse to work. Now they're called a burden. The real burden is all the legals & illegals & those who for generations have depended on welfare and other subsidies. They are the ones draining the system.

So Kevin, do you feel that some one who worked all their lives and sometimes two jobs so they could someday retire is selfish? I did it for 30 years and the last 15 were 2 1/2 jobs almost 7 days a week. And you think I should give someone my money who won't work, or won't save for retirement. Cold day in hell. I'll give to a disabled person in a heartbeat. You need to look around and ss how many of the "Burden Aging" are volunteering at hospitals, soup kitchens. I volunteer over a thousand hrs a year at a cost to me of around $3,500 a year. That doesn't include what I donate to charities organizations such as the Elks.

Thank you for the representation of the boomer mindset, and thanks for the unbathed hippies, Woodstock, the 60's America bashing, then on to Reaganomics, Yuppies, greed is good, Ivan Boesky, disco, Billy "Freakin" Joel, excessive debt, AIDS, Wonder bread, HFCS, and "Forrest Gump", a really, REALLY, awful movie celebrating that selfishness... I'd continue, but as long as you you got yours, it's all good!

I have no idea where your coming from. Who cares about unbathed hippies, Woodstock, the Yuppies. I fought in Vietnam and I was no silver spoon in mouth. I've worked my ass off for everything I have. What have you done that's so special?

I've worked my **** off for everything I have. What have you done that's so special? Hey, Thanks for the service... I wasn't born yet or I would have helped! I'll be overpaying taxes to keep you and the rest of the boomers comfortable in your retirement (That is if you use Social security, Medicare, and your military benefits!) Let me offer a pre-emptive "You're Welcome!", because honestly, the boomers never learned how to say "Thank you!" to anyone! :-)
