I'm sorry to say I've stated in Days Inn many times. From now on, I'd rather sleep in the car and hope others will do the same. All the hard work put in by the citizens of Farmington, only to have out of town guests to remember the crooks at these motels.

If I remember correctly, this has happened every year the NHSFR has been held in San Juan County. It is sad the hotels would price gouge since all their rooms will be booked most likely be rodeo people. It is sad to see such embarassing southern hospitality for such a wonderful youth event, not to mention the hard economic times everyone is experiencing. Why would they want to come back?

It is not days inn but the east indian hotel owners association. they got refused insurance in oklahoma in the early 80's for all sorts of insurance fraud and misconduct. They then formed the east indian group called ahoa (aisian hotel owners association) to get around the being uninsured by insurance companies. They meet in las vegas, nv each year. I have personally seen a lot of their durty ways from social security fraud to driving up to the farmington, nm medical center in a new bmw and to apply for medicade hiding the fact of being a motel owner in farmington, nm. and yet still nothing is done so they keep on doing these type of activities. When will the proper authorities act?

Peggy wrote: That was a really lousy thing to do especially for a Youth event that attracts families. Our kids are into Shooting Sports and we've had this happen to us a couple of tims (you'd think they would think twice about ticking off families traveling with small armories). We recently had to deal with a knife fight in the lobby of what used to be a really nice hotel.... and yes, everyone of my kids was loaded and ready to defend. There is a very simple way to deal with the hotel owners, the rodeo association folks need to post a notice on their website recommending that participants use caution when dealing with certain hotels. They'll realize they've screwed up when every other hotel is full and theirs is empty. I also like that idea about putting together a list of families willing to play hosts to other families... That's a good idea to put it on ,there, web site, great suggestion.Maybe they will start a national complaint section, for hotels/motels, so no matter where, they know ahead of time. They do have guest families for Connie Mack,[its currsntly in another article named "Ready to play ball" todays edition] but I'm not sure about host families for the rodeo, cause everyone has there own ride,[horses] so to say, but if not, it can be, if it is, we will find out, cause it is only human to show kindness.

I'm half tempted to inquire, if anyone would be intrested in the building of one more hotel, in Bloomfield, national chain. the clientel is Truckers, tourist [We ARE the gateway to every thing comming from Albq] and no construstion. if the lot is big enough for trucks. its big enough for horse trailers. and such. and make a killing just keeping prices fair. and honor our reservations. regardless. Bloomfield has the lot big enough to do it right on main. It would be something to think about, Best Western is usualy half or more full, tourist and truckers! They were also probably full for the Rodeo,Connie Mack, and the Car races.Bloomfield could use the revenue.

The Rabbi wrote: <quoted text> Don't forget to run out the Jews, while you are at it! Also run out the navajos too, because that makes real sense! What a hilarious forum going on between Thing 50 and Real Story. I thought this forum was about Local hotels price gouging? Instead, it turns to Navajos controlling the CCSD. To REAL STORY, the real story is that qualified Navajos were elected to board positions at CCSD. In Kirtland/Shiprock, race is not an issue. I know, because I grew up there. I attended school with Navajo and white students. Attended church with Navajos and whites. Participated in community events with Navajos and whites. To THING 50, Mr. Manning is a good person. I knew him in church and as board member as he only wanted the best for CCSD. As to "The Rabbi", are you Jewish? And what is your meaning behind... "Also run out the navajos too, because that makes real sense!"? Explain...maybe, I didn't quite understand it.
