Bank of America should neverhave brougth Countrywide Home Loans. Previous to the purchase of Countrywide Bank of America had never been involved in the subprime and high risk mortgage business. Then to add insult to injury Bank of America allowed themselves to be con'd by the federal government into purchasing Merrill Lynch.

With its name "too toxic to resuscitate," as an expert says, Bank of America has begun rebranding each branch. Starting with 215 storefront offices in California this past weekend, Countrywide Home Loans signs came down and Bank of America Home Loans signs appeared, the Los Angeles Times reported.

That's funny, apparently the people at BONY think their name still has some cache, that it's less toxic than Countrywide. After the mass rape of all their present (and soon to be past) customers they won't be able to sell anything attached to their name. I can't wait!

Actaully none of the executives at Bank of America got bonuses this year. You must be thinking of Merrill Lynch who gave bonuses out to their executives prior to Bank of America taking over.

So It is obvious you have a loan through them, and are being foreclosed on. I am glad it happened to you. And if you arent being foreclosed on yet, then that means you have a cruddy FICO score, which means you are paying high interest rates. I am glad you are getting it up the bunghole.

So according to this article, all I have to do is re brand a product and it suddenly has more value?

So if I take my Kia Sportage with the upgraded interior and wheel covers and stencil Ferrari on the side of it with yellow paint I have increased my equity?

You clearly are LLT. Bank of America was never involved in subprime loans until they purchased Countrywide.

"LoL" before you try that BS you threw out at LI lurker, I'll save you the trouble. I paid my mortgage off 2 years ago and don't owe the credit card companies any more than what I charge each month. If I charge $4,000 in a month I pay the $4,000 when the bill comes in. the only loan I have is an auto loan at )zero% interest. summer cruise for 4 all paid up.

Perhaps Bank of America or Countrywide gave you a hard time, maybe they turned you down for a loan.

LOL, I guess I over rated you I thought you'd come up with something more substial then to attack where a person lives or the type of home they live in. I was never a big fan of redneck humor. What's next an attack on my wife and children or better still my mother.

Actually, Countrywide purchased a whole bunch of prime loan portfolios from banks. My loan originated at a savings bank but was then sold to Countrywide. I'm not happy, but there's nothing I can do until it makes sense to refinance.

Wasn't it Countrywide that gave U.S. Senator Chris Dodd (Democrat Connecticut), Chairman of the Senate BANKING COMMITTEE, two sweetheart low-interest VIP loans? And of course Countrywide contributed to Dodd's campaign fund.

But don't worry. Dodd assures us that the loans didn't influence his committee's treatment of Countrywide at all. Yeah. That's the ticket ...
