PORR (Pelosi - Obama - Reid Recession that was actually worked hard to create a crisis and they did! These traitors followed marching orders from MoveOn/George Soros and their ilk.

I'm reminded of "Nero fiddled while Rome burned"! In this case we have politicians setting the fire. Create a crisis to hurt America for the sake of an election. Guess they finally found something they could do right.

I propose that Obama, and Pelosi be grounded and not flying his asses all over the world for photo ops.

Then I would suggest that somebody in the pathetic media start following the money they received for selling out the country.

It's good the politicians aren't subject to performance or they'd be living on the street or in prison!

You "right" thinkers should start to flood the newspapers of Connecticut, Michigan and Wisconsin with your ripe comments about their senators and reps.

I agree that it is crock that you have to pay gazillions to get good leaders. Look at the military. Our generals are paid a pittance compared to their peers in industry (looking at job complexity, size of organization, etc.). They are also not overly paid compared to generals in other major military establishments. Given this low level of pay, our military should have been creamed in the last 2 gulf wars, yet with exception of Vietnam and perhaps Korea, our military have performed quite well. Perhaps we need to look for leaders motivated by more that greed to lead our government owned banks. Perhaps replace CEOs with retired Army Generals. They would be happy to do it for $500K and as a banker who is former military, I think they would do at least as well as our current rock star CEOs.

I will be in favor of compensation limits when Hollywood, professional sports and professional lobbyists all accept the same rules. I'm not holding my breath.

It's time those worthless newscasters making millions like Brian Williams take a pay cap. After all, we bailed out GE that owns NBC.

Don't forget the this newspaper is owned by banks - banks whose CEOs would be pressing for a bankruptcy settlement if Sam Zell wasn't printing exactly what he was supposed to.

Our chief reward motivation is profit. Take that away for any reason and you're looking at a socialism. And if you want to see why that doesn't work, look at France. No, we shouldn't allow too much corruption to cloud the water, just a little. But trying to impose a doctrine of "fairness" is like the infamous French 35-hour work week. All it accomplished was reducing that country's output and discouraging its workers. That's why so many of their more gifted thieves moved to Canada.

The editorial concludes, "Meanwhile, we're waiting for the first member of Congress to volunteer to take a pay cut until the federal government runs a surplus again." I suggest the Tribune lead a crusade to contact members of the Bush administration for retroactive contributions to the cause. Haven't seen any spontaneous movment in that direction. You will recall we had a surplus at the end of the Clinto administration.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Scorpio

Today's Lunar Eclipse at the Full Moon stirs up powerful emotions during the next two weeks (as it has done since the Gemini Solar Eclipse last month), and it may not be a very pleasant experience. Are you feeling rather compulsive and obsessive? Financial issues could be a problem,, especially if they appear to threaten your sense of emotional security. Don't let jealousy or envy make you do things that will set other people against you.
