both of you are probably the irresponsible buyer who wanted to buy a house they couldnt afford, CW was a great company that employerd over 50 thousand people over the span of 40 yrs. Angelo Mozilo is a great man who helped thousands of minorites get into homes, I am proud to have worked for such a great company. Are you two mad cause your greed got the best of you? Did you sign something without reading it? Pathetic! Take some responsability!

A little Pride is okay, having provided homeownership opportunities to over 20 million families, but if you take off your tan-colored glasses, you won't be quite so defensive at a little frustration being expressed by may not of had the world class customer service that it was hyped to be. And for the record, 50,000 jobs is not even peak at one time. Angelo's farewell cited 200,000 over 40 years, but I'm pretty sure that is conservative in considering turnover.

I have my own impression about Angelo's sincerity, but while it's tempting to take a cheap shot and quip that someone should be checking E-Bay for some Green "Protect the Big House" handcuffs, most of the media bashing is overblown, and the attorneys general lining up to extort settlements for their constituents is pretty hypocritical.

There were plenty of fly-by-night mortgage providers, but Countrywide is not one of them. You'll find a bunch of cads at various levels in any organization, but Bank of America is going to make damn sure that the ethics they're promoting...er, we're promoting, are reflective of the standards that will be bourne throughout the entire enterprise. Bank of America has just become a better company by acquiring a Countrywide that despite the condition of the industry, had a lot going for it.

Wrong, you Realtards. I'm one of the SMART ones who recognized that your 6-figure properties weren't worth 5. I'm waiting until 2012 or so, when I'll buy a property outright for the same sum that last year would have only constituted a down payment. Sorry, but no cut for you.

Yeah! I read it! However, when my wife died suddenly, I was left with 4 grieving boys (all under the age of 16) and half of the family income. I called Countrywide for some help and they could have cared less. I had to miss a payment in order to help with funeral costs and asked them if I could skip a payment and tack it onto the end of the loan (which is what Chase did to a house we previously owned). They said no and I had to fall behind one payment. So now I am suddenly a single father with 4 boys and now am one payment behind. I asked (pleaded) several times for some kind of help and relief and they could not cared one bit. The people I talked to were rude, crass, and not caring at all. All I got was threatening phone calls and a higher payment because of the late fees. I was going through the worst time in my life and they just added to the problems and struggle.

Next time you want to cut somebody down, make sure you know what you are talking about!!!!

Countrywide services millions of loans. If they had a bleeding heart for every sob story they encountered, they would have gone out of business a long time ago. It is very sad that your wife died, but it's not Countrywide's problem. You are just like all the rest of the people out there who think they should get something for nothing. Sorry to give you a hard dose of the truth, but the reality is that it's not their job to care about you or your wife. It's their job to lend money and they provided you a service and allowed you to buy your home and they deserve to be paid back.

At no time did I say that I did not want to pay the mortgage. Of course I woule. I simply asked to skip a payment and tack that payment onto the end of the loan. This has NOTHING to do with paying back the loan. It has EVERYTHING to do with customer service! If you call having to use that money to pay for a funeral, then that is your problem.

I hated Countrywide. They never ever help the consumer in bad times, NOR do they even care. All they want is their money, and don't give a damn how you do it to send to them. Horrible company to do business with. I would never ever suggest to anybody doing any business with them. Thank GOD they are done. They have so many lawsuits against them, including mine! Hope they drown, right along with their unfriendly staff!
